Not my city but for a trip with girlfriends definitely New Orleans. I know you have been but the food is so good and always worth a trip. I just wouldn't want to go solo because drinking alone is depressing, cocktails and food are my favorite New Orleans activities.
I would do DC alone though. Visiting the Smithsonians alone is awesome because sometimes I want to stay three hours and sometimes I want to stay three minutes. Depending on when you go you can do a White House tour with Christmas decorations. Most importantly so much yummy food.

New Orleans is a great idea. I'd love to go in the fall/winter, too -- not hot and humid then. And you're right re not going solo!
I know people love D.C., but I have a weird aversion to it after having lived there for three rather unhappy years. LOL.
Ummmm... we have less alcohol in our beer but very pretty mountains and a waffle place that was on that show with the annoying blonde guy. No?
ETA- there is a poke gym at my work. I don't know what that means but I'm assuming you do, and it must be good because people go wander out in the soccer field for hours doing... poke gym things.

If I were a skier, maybe I'd head your way for Park City?
I actually have a good friend who lives in SLC, and I haven't seen her in ages since she moved.

Our restaurant scene in Cincinnati has grown and expanded over the last three years. You can find excellent food here and it's fairly reasonably priced.
Our arts scene is quite good as well.
We have a lot of brewing history here, so our craft brewing and distlling culture is growing.
Boise. Cheaper than most options. You could stay downtown and pretty much walk anywhere. There is a place called Boise frye company- all types of fries with all types of sauces. Lots of local places to eat. I'm here. hahaha

Plus, amazing parks. And I'm here ;-)
I've never been to Cincinnati either.
These are good ideas for me to see more of our country.
New Orleans in the fall and winter is when it is habitable! Great food, lots of wonderful alcohol, and some really neat museums and tours if you're wanting to do more than eat or drink (but really, eating and drinking is enough). I love it here, but not this time of year. It's either raining or we're in a heat advisory. Too hot.

I once went in July or August. I walked maybe two blocks to a restaurant.
Upon arrival, the sweet hostess said, "Welcome! May I show you where our ladies' room is?"
I thought this was weird until I went in and saw that I looked like somebody had poured a bucket of water on my head. SO SWEATY.
