I got the $15 off $50 too (Rouge). I was going to get the Sephora brand mud mask this week so that works out:) I think I'll grab one of those Stila glitter eyeshadow things too.
I got a $10 off code (VIB). Not sure what to buy but I will buy something! (Even though you can use only one code and I live for the deluxe sample codes, I guess the $$ is better :-) )
Anyone have thoughts on Glamglow masks?
Or maybe treatments?
I really like the Glamglow supermud treatment. It's stupid expensive though (to me, anyway).
I also just got the Philospphy Purity mask. Tried it for the first time last night and my skin was super soft after.

I have one of the Stila ones and it irritated my eyes for two days! I want to try it again just to see if it was a fluke, but I'm scared.
I FINALLY went through all my samples and organized them by categories, even subcategories (like eye cream, mask, skin treatments, sunsreens). If I'm good about using them, I won't have to buy anything for a while. That said, I'm not above throwing a sample away if i immediately don't like something about it, usually the texture or the smell.
Also tomorrow and Wednesday will be fun mail days for my Mac, Ulta and Sephora orders.

Hopefully it was a fluke! Figures the one I want is sold out at the moment:/
I got the $15 code. I've been waiting forever for a Derm store code so I could get some Drunk Elephant Day Serum, but it's always excluded. So I was finally able to refill. Happy day.
i got the 10 dollars off from sephora - nice surprise in my inbox! i picked up the newest tarte rainforest of the sea palette since i have the other two and a UD vice liquid lip that they used on me in a makeover a bit ago and my DH really liked. yay!

I haven't gotten any coupons from Sephora! Those bastards.
I got my Banila clean it zero yesterday and it's pretty amazing. I can't wait to use it with 50 Shades' pore cleaning routine! Because I know how to party...
bluestreet , so your hair sounds curlier than mine. like if all of my hair looked like the stuff that grows out behidn my ears it would look like yours, but mine has these annoying barely wavey patches in the top layers - though perhaps my problem there is that I'm not doing shit upside down. It also just sorta flattens out into a general body wave by day 3 rather than going messy/tangly.
I'll have to try upside down. If that magically turns my top layers into the ringlets I get on my bottom layers I'll be over the moon.
Try this next time you have a little time to spare in your routine: do the plopping that I wrote about first, upside down, etc. Then when you take the cotton shirt off after 20 mins,* do about 5 twists with sections from your top layers. Diffuse. I'll bet that will get you the effect you're going for.
(My curliness has varied over the last decade with babies and hormones, so I've had experience with various levels of wave/curly/frizz/assholery)
*That 20 mins when I'm plopping is when I do my skincare routine, sometimes makeup and clothes too.
Do you have an example showing what you're talking about with the twists? that's a broad term and all I can find is instructions for twistouts and the like. I need a like I'm 5 here. How do I secure them? how tight do I twist?

I got a glamglow mask and a Sephora Favorites set (I really love trying new things, it is the Travel Set, I mostly bought it because it has a tiny Luna oil in it, and an Algenist eye cream). Thankfully, I had forgotten that I had a refund coming for my kids' camp (I changed to a different one for some weeks) so it is like free stuff, right?

I'm so jazzed MAC is at Ulta! I thought it was just going to be the product, but the one near me has pros as well. I got color-matched for foundation (again) and also bought primer with my 20% off coupon.
I've also been trying out perfumes for weeks and even though I've been aware of D&G Light Blue for ages, I've never tried it. I did today and it smells so good on me. So many perfumes dry down and smell terrible on me, but it smells yummy. Perfect summer scent!

+1 to this - I have very short wavy hair and I can't plop it for shit.

I'm mad at myself for getting 2 MAC lipsticks that are very similar. I was too nervous to get something out of my comfort zone, so I ended up with 2 that look the same. Boo.
Can I return to an ulta store even if that store doesn't carry MAC?

I don't see why not. My Ulta has a special shelf for returned products that were online-only and unused.
I think I'm going to be practical and use my sephora $15 off on backups, probably a Marc Jacobs eyeliner that's my everyday tightline pencil. And maybe the Boscia makeup breakup or the Clinique take the day off balm. If I was being frivolous, as I often am, I would skip the makeup remover and get the Tarte Make Believe in Yourself palette

Here's the best tutorial I could find for now. It is just twirling hair strands. Play around with how big the sections you twist are for different looks. Twirl tightly because they'll definitely loosen. And I pull the section that I'm about to twirl up from the root and twist and then there's a little pop at the root.
Since Google isn't being that helpful, I'll probably upload a couple pics tomorrow.

Any recs for a great setting spray? I use UD all nighter but since my job is physical at times, my makeup is pretty much gone by the end of my 12 hour shift. I love the UD setting spray and it works great on days I don't work.
I'm hitting Ulta tomorrow! I have a 20% off coupon so I plan on doing some damage.

I just used a mask sample I got from Biologique Recherche (I think it was the "renewing mask"). I thought nothing could smell worse than P50. I was oh-so-wrong. Also: it is the consistency and color of molasses and spreads like tar. 20 minutes and it was off...feels pretty good but stingy.

I'm testing out Maybelline's SuperStay Matte Ink liquid lipstick that I got for free through Influenster. I just finished a large cup of hot coffee, and there was no transfer to the cup. My lips don't feel dry, either.
I have red lips on today. Nyx lip cream in amsterdam. I feel like a few people have given me funny looks because it's pretty damn bright and outside my usual (bright ass pink or plum is normal for me, bright red not so much) but I think I like it.
I probably should have thrown on some eyeliner though to balance it out a bit more. (eta: also I've giving up on shaping my eyebrows. I haven't bothered to do shit with them in ages...I really ought to get them waxed or something, but I never notice except in pictures.)

The NYX setting spray works better for me that UD one. It makes my makeup last through an outdoor archery tournament, but that may not be comparable to what you do.

My Cult Beauty order came today. I got Emma Hardie balm and Oskia Renaissance cleanser. I opened the balm and it is like 1/3 melted. Dammit. I used a spatula to mix all the oil in hopefully it doesn't separate again. It is really nice and smells good, so hopefully I didn't screw it up.
I love the amnesia I get after placing an order because then when it arrives, it's totally like Christmas! Today was my ulta order of the Australian gold tinted sunscreen, soap and glory body butter, MUR new-trals palette and a nude lipstick and Neutrogena hydro-gel moisturizer.

My Ulta order arrived. I'm home with H, he had minor outpatient surgery, so I got to play with my stuff right away. I am in LOVE with all three Mac lipsticks I got. I can't wait to actually wear them. The UD lip gloss I order is awesome, it's going to be fun for fall.
