I got my Ulta order yesterday too. I got 2 MAC lipsticks and a lip gloss (first time trying MAC), stocked up on my Olay serum and It cosmetics bye bye pores powder and an in shower face mask that I forgot to try in my shower last night. Boring stuff, but I truly don't need any eyeshadow, blush, etc. I also got a Clinique lip oil that was on sale and while it's really pretty on, it didn't last very long. I do like that it isn't sticky, but it will need to be reapplied often throughout the day.
I didn't even use my Sephora $10. I couldn't find anything that I was excited about. I think I've hit my make up limit!
My Ulta order arrived. I'm home with H, he had minor outpatient surgery, so I got to play with my stuff right away. I am in LOVE with all three Mac lipsticks I got. I can't wait to actually wear them. The UD lip gloss I order is awesome, it's going to be fun for fall.
Mine won't come until Monday!!!! Is Coral Optix as amazing as it looked online?!
It's more...this is why I love/hate you. I can't wait to put it on today.

I'm not sure if I need a primer or setting spray for my problem, maybe you guys can help me. I don't currently use either. Well I take that back, I used too face hangover yesterday and it made the problem worse. I use Becca backlight in the winter but II definitely don't need any extra glow lately!
Summer and humidity is making my skin oily and my foundation is separating throughout the day and setting into my pores.
So primer or setting spray? In the past when I've used pore filling primers they broke me out, I think from the silicone, so I've been scared to try them again but my skin has gotten less breakout prone as I've got older so I'm willing to give it a shot.
I just used a mask sample I got from Biologique Recherche (I think it was the "renewing mask"). I thought nothing could smell worse than P50. I was oh-so-wrong. Also: it is the consistency and color of molasses and spreads like tar. 20 minutes and it was off...feels pretty good but stingy.
I love that disgusting smelling mask. Lol! Masque vivant. I bought the full size of it. My family avoids me when I have it on. I kind of think it smells like soy sauce, DH said it is much worse than that.

I'd start with a primer- but not a "moisturizing one", which you can attest from your previous experience. If you have that barrier between your skin and the foundation, it lessens the opportunity for your face oils to break down the makeup.
Go to sephora and get a few samples of some mattifying primers- Becca has one, Cover FX, MUFE all as I recall don't have that weirdo silicone-y feeling. This is def a situation where you need to try many to find one that you like.

I think a mattifying primer would be a good place to start testing. You might think about a matte setting powder too, like NYX blotting powder. Or I just recently picked up Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Setting Powder. Zabrena mentioned it in a recent video and I've been trying it out the past week. It's really holding up to normal week day hear and humidity exposure for me.

Yes, agree with a mattifying primer and I'd make sure to let it sit for a moment to dry down a bit before applying foundation. I added the soap and glory one heck of a blot primer below cuz I've heard good reviews.

Ahh, the things we forget about summer during the cooler months! I wrestle with this as well. Makeup seems to melt off my face in the summer.
Are you using a different foundation? I find I have to use something different in the summer than the winter, coupled with a different primer. . In the summer I prefer to wear a BB/CC cream for daily wear, as opposed to my usual moderate coverage foundation. I have extremely oily skin all year and right now use the It Cosmetics CC cream, trying different primers to find the right one.
I love the beauty blender blotterazzi because it does a nice job of removing oil while also re-blending anything that may have separated as the day progresses. Regular oil blotters didn't do anything for the makeup on me.
Try this next time you have a little time to spare in your routine: do the plopping that I wrote about first, upside down, etc. Then when you take the cotton shirt off after 20 mins,* do about 5 twists with sections from your top layers. Diffuse. I'll bet that will get you the effect you're going for.
(My curliness has varied over the last decade with babies and hormones, so I've had experience with various levels of wave/curly/frizz/assholery)
*That 20 mins when I'm plopping is when I do my skincare routine, sometimes makeup and clothes too.
Do you have an example showing what you're talking about with the twists? that's a broad term and all I can find is instructions for twistouts and the like. I need a like I'm 5 here. How do I secure them? how tight do I twist?
I'm also curious about this technique, so I did some looking online too. I found this video and it seems to be pretty similar to what bluestreet is talking about. It helped me!
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

Ok, this may sound weird. I was watching Caroline Hirons, and I think it was one of her youtube videos talking about favorite products and she mentioned this issue. I have always thought that I had oily skin. I moisturize, but foundation does.not.last on my skin. She mentioned that if your skin is dehydrated (which oily skin can be) that your skin sucks up the water from your foundation causing it to separate and settle into pores. The water is being sucked up but the pigment is left behind which causes the issue. I've been paying attention to how my makeup performs since then, and I notice that when I drink more water in general, and use more lightly moisturizing layers under my foundation, that my makeup lasts longer and doesn't separate nearly as badly. Could that possibly be your issue?
Yesterday, I wore a Covergirl lipstick that I scored on clearance for super cheap this past winter. It's a bright coral-red color that I thought would be perfect for summer.
You guys- I'm hella impressed at how long lasting it was and how evenly it wore. I wore it for 12 hours and only re-touched once. After a while, the emollient part of the lipstick wore away, leaving the pigment and it still looked amazing. Totally flabbergasted right now.

And you will now tell us which line and color?
On a similar note I'm impressed with the cover girl outlast intense. The duel sided one with the gloss. It stayed as well or better than some more expensive liquid lipsticks I have and was really comfy. It's actually a bitch to take off. You can't recoat though...if you're trying to do an 18 hour day it's not good becasue it will start to fade and you can't just slap more on. But can easily do a full workday wit out needing a touchup.
