We dont use magic bands in California.
Be prepared to get to the park at least 30 minutes prior to opening if you want to ride ROTR. It opens next week and they will be using the same boarding group system that they use in WDW.

Ive been with Chase since they took over Washington Mutual. My only issue with them is that their fraud department is too on the ball at times. They don't like it when I go shopping at Harrods and if I buy something out of the norm, I get an "is this you making the charge" email from them.
ETA- some of their ATMs have started distributing bills other than $20s. I LOVE this option because sometimes you dont need $40 or $60 so its nice to be able to take out odd dollar amounts or even get $100 in assorted bills. My local Chase ATM distributes $5, $20 and $100 bills.

Lowepro Passport Sling iii I got this specifically to travel with my camera. I've used it at Disney and SDCC. It expands so you can make it bigger. It has adjustable/removable padding to protect your camera, an inside zippered pouch, and a few outside pouches. It isn't stylish but it works and can hold lots of stuff.

What is the room category for Saratoga Springs? That is a DVC resort so if it is for a 1 bedroom or larger, you will a full kitchen and laundry in the room. You will also be close to Disney Springs which has a ton of food options.

I've got a Disneyland AP b/c I live in SoCal and can visit whenever I want. The basic reasoning for justifying an AP works for both DLR and WDW
1. Consider the time of year you would visiting and pick an AP that doesn't have those dates as block out dates. 2. Find the break even point for whatever pass you buy. Example: my DLR Signature pass renewed in Nov and I've already been to the parks 5 times since then and I've got 2 more days planned for next week, 5-6 days in August and a possible 3-4 days in Sept/Oct. The break even point on my level of AP is 6 visits (based off of paying for parking each visit, maxpass, and a 1 day park hopper).
Not sure what the discounts are in FL but I get a 15% discount on food and a 20% discount on merch. It does save a little bit of $$ but not enough to really make a dent in my park spending. Discounts aren't always available at food/merch carts and some quick service locations.
Look at what you spent on park tickets for your last year's worth of trips. If you spent less than the cost of an AP, continue to buy individual tickets but it you spent way more than the cost of an AP, you need to get one. You won't have the option of hopping in the car and doing a day trip so you really need to consider if you are going you get your money's worth from the AP.
If you are staying in a DVC villa, dont count on getting the room early. If it is ready early, you will luck out. Requesting it does absolutely nothing. You also cannot get a late check out so be prepared to be out by 11 am. Contractually, they do not have to have the room ready by 4 pm and many times it still isn't ready by then.

In the china hutch with the nice dishes. Our christmas dishes aren't a dining set; they are a set of cute reindeer dessert plates with matching glasses that I picked up at Crate and Barrel years ago. We use my grandmas china for the main meal and the cute stuff for apps and dessert.
lilac05 I'm single, broke AF, semi unemployed, and have no offspring. That leaves a lot of free time to read. A 200-page book is a 2-3 hour read for me so if I am having a lazy day, I can easily read 2-3 books if they are under 300 pages. Even longer books (800-1000 pages) are only a day's worth of reading. I also read before bed to relax and unwind; the only problem with doing this is that sometimes I don't want to put a book down if it is getting really good. There have been many late nights where I end up finishing the book because I have to know how it ends.

My podiatrist put me in a cast for 3 weeks to fix my PF. It worked and I've been pain-free for 10 years. I live in my Olukai Ohana flip flops. I am barefoot 99% of the time at home but I try to wear shoes/slippers if I am walking around. This is easier to do in the winter when my feet get cold.
I thought he did. Rey took two lightsabers to face Palpatine, one of which had been Leia's, and gave one to Kylo.
Hm, I thought he had Luke’s and Rey had Leia’s.
He did. Rey passed him Luke's/Anakin's saber through their force bond. While him having Leia's saber would add to the sentimentality, having him wield his grandfather's saber to face off with Palps was more fitting.
My biggest issue was Rey can move mountains of boulders and has healing powers to cure serpent creatures but she couldn’t use the force to get to the old Death Star and easier? Part the rough sea? Walk on water?
But that wouldn't be as exciting and they wouldn't be able to get cool shots of her riding the waves
Im still trying to articulate my thoughts without coming across as a toxic member of saltier than crait but damn I have so many issues with this movie. I've seen it four times and get more annoyed after each viewing. My biggest issues are with time and lightspeed/hyperspace travel. They are jumping all over the damn galaxy; Pasaana in the Expansion region to Kijimi in the Mid Rim to a moon of Endor in the Outer rim to Ahch-To and Exegol both in the Unknown Regions. All that travel takes time and DLF have established in the canon novels that it takes many hours to reach parts of the galaxy. The stupid ass deadline (we have 16 hours before Palps unleashes the Final Order) is a load of crap and the entire fucking movies takes place in 1 day.

London if you are near an airport with a non-stop flight. Fly out Thurs night, get there friday morning and have 2.5 days to peruse Borough Market, museums, etc. Fly home Sunday afternoon/evening.
Christmas Day is typically pretty busy but the crowds are usually in good moods which helps!
Ok so if I get a pass for a ride that isn’t available say until 7pm to redeem but it’s only 9:30 am. Can I still book other passes with times in between now and that 7pm pass? Or can I only have the one later pass booked?
Here is the basics for late return times; I will use hypothetical times so you can get a better idea of what I am talking about.
So let's say that at 10 am, you get a FP for RSR with a return time of 6 pm. If you are using MaxPass, you will be able to get your next fast pass in 90 minutes (11:30 am) but if you are using the traditional free method (going to the actual distribution machine), you will be able to get your next one at 12 pm/noon. The rule of thumb for late return times is 90 minutes for MaxPass and 120 minutes for the old school way. Once you get another FP, you need to pay attention to the time when you can book a new one. After the 90/120 minute window "expires", the system reverts back to the normal way of booking where you can get your next one as soon as you scan in your current one or your current booking window pops up. This makes it possible to have 2-3 active FPs at the same time even though you can only book one at a time.
Unless something is an absolute must ride, dont waste your FPs like that; it locks you out of the system right when the park starts getting busy and by the time you can start booking again, many rides will be out of FPs. Hit the super popular stuff at rope drop and grab FPs for the other stuff at the same time. The later it gets in the day, the less options you will have for FPs. Choose them wisely or you will be wasting time and money. Im looking at the Disneyland app right now and FPs for all the rides except GRR are out for the day in DCA. Disneyland has a small selection of late return times mostly b/c of the weather (its been raining so the park is dead).

litebright The Leia footage was essentially the stuff that got cut out of TFA and TLJ. I can even pinpoint the scenes that they correspond to in the other films based on the outfit and what she is doing. They worked with what they had and wrote the scenes around it; thats why it seems a bit off. Some of the footage is from TFA when Han dies and when Rey and Leia meet for the first time (the weird hug towards the end of TFA after they destroy Starkiller base).
I saw it earlier today. Still processing but my initial thoughts are I really liked it.
I was going to be very mad if Rey ended up turning to the dark side. I also would have been very upset if she had died. I was not sure if I wanted a Kylo/Ben redemption but I am okay with how that played out.
I was excited to see porgs and ewoks!
I had forgotten that Temmin Wexley was nicknamed Snap. I feel like I need to see his scenes again. I read the Aftermath series after watching The Force Awakens.
Is anyone also watching the Mandalorian? Did you watch episode 7 before or after you saw Rise of Skywalker?
Snap is not utilized much in the movies. You also need to read Resistance Reborn; Snap, Norra and Wedge are in it. The Aftermath series does provide the backstory on how the Final Order was able to assemble and Palps probably used that lab on Jakku for some of his weird experiments. I'm just trying to figure out why Rey's parents left her on Jakku; Gallius Rax was doing all sorts of shady shit with Niima the Hutt there and her parents just up and leave her in Niima Outpost. If her dad knew that Grandpa Palps was evil, why hide you child on a planet that you know he has history on.

I'll post my thoughts when I'm on a real computer. I did back to back showings so I've got a few observations.
But fuck JJ for killing off Snap. I'm still seething about that death. And whoever wrote the dialogue needs to be smacked with the script until they bleed. Ben's last spoken word is "oww". WTF?!?!?
Go early. Use maxpass and use it effectively. Try not to get fast passes for return tine that are hours away. Grab whatever is available as soon as you scan in for a ride. Things like Radiator Springs RacerS, Hyperspace mountain and haunted Mansion will run out of FPs early in the day so hit those rides first. If you want to ride Smuggler's Run, do that later in the day when the lines are shorter. Use the afternoon for shows, character meet and greets, etc.
When you say scan in, I don’t think I know what you mean. They scan your max pass at one ride and then you can get a pass for another immediately after? Like as I’m walking through the line?
Yup. You will scan your phone at the fp machine and as soon as you do that, you should be able you book another fastpass in the app. I pull up the available options once I'm in the line for the ride and book my next one before I even board.

bardenbellas the people in my star wars group said they started letting people in around 6 am and quite a few of them managed to ride multiple times because of how the boarding group system works; they got a boarding pass at 6 am, rode the ride around 6:30 am, got another boarding pass, rode the ride and managed to grab a 3rd boarding pass right befoe they ran out.

I have a friend who is a stylist who does an hourly rate for color that requires more than just normal processing time. If you want pastels, vibrants, multi-color or unicorn hair, she charges $125 an hour and it is a minimum of 4-8 hours.
The time everyone finally found out about what a POS booby was. I had known for many years, and it was vindication for me!
This is how I felt about miso. She was always SO RUDE to people for no reason at all and had no sense of humor. Different than booby but still a jerk that everyone loved.
Back in the days of TK/TN, she decided that she didn't like me and would frequently mock everything I posted. I never interacted with her when she started doing that so I don't know what the fuck her problem was. Never understood the love fest that people had for her on the boards.

Christmas market in Erfurt. It is such a charming little town and it was barely damaged in WWII so a lot of the medieval architecture is still intact. It is also about an hour away from Leipzig by train (ICE). weihnachtsmarkt.erfurt.de/wm/en/index.html

What is this weather thing that you speak of? We don't have that here! But seriously, if I do need to check the weather, I just use the google weather widget on my Pixel home screen. Its pretty reliable for real-time weather but can sometimes miss the mark with more long term stuff (yeah, still bitter that it was 94F the weekend before thanksgiving when the forecast was for the low 80s).
