We saw Silver Linings Playbook. yeah....we walked out about 30 minutes in. It was awful - we both hated it and finally just left. what a waste of money
I am good during the day - not really any symptoms. At night they all hit full force. Heartburn, my tailbone and hips hurt SO bad I can't get comfortable and toss and turn all night. I get congested, I have to pee at least twice and get up at least once a night for Tums. I am pretty sleep deprived.
Nursery is almost done! I think I have everything I need now, bought some diapers and pacifiers and baby wash the other day. Now I just need to install the carseat and pack my bag but I think I will wait a few more weeks.
I had the Ikea vivans for my DD's nursery. Crap quality - really thin cheap fabric, but they gave a pretty overall look and were dirt cheap. Worked for us! They are white white.
I am loving the new blogs I have discovered from you guys this week, the 7th house on the left and cris and julia.
My blog list was shrinking - I had so many that went dead so I deleted them, or they were not about subjects I like anymore- like the lettered cottage suddenly becoming an adoption/life blog.
Thanks for all the awesome recs girls! Keep sharing good ones as you find them! I was starting to get a bit bored with the blog world but I think it's not that blogs are sucking it's that I am stuck in the rut of reading the same ones and I have changed my tastes, or grown out of them, or they are getting stale but there are so many awesome ones out there I just have to find them!
I agree- a classy, properly done version of YHL! Why are these guys not famous with a book? Makes no sense...I will be reading them for sure, and I dropped YHL a long time ago.
I would leave your table bare. When serving food, put the bowls and platters onto a placemat or a hot pot, a wooden cutting board....anything, really. I don't like table pads....your table is pretty, show it off! And it's going to get scratches and dents, that's just life. roll with it...protect it as best you can but you have to "live" too...
What do you wish your parents had taught you /prepared you for that they didn't?
My parents did a great job raising me. But I have little things that I wish they would have shown me, that would have made life easier. My mom never taught me about makeup or shaving or anything like that. I got to a certain age and asked if I could wear makeup and she said yes. I bought and experimented with it and learned on my own, but she never took me to the drug store to help me figure out how to match foundation to my skin, never showed me how to apply eyeliner or anything like that. I think her makeup routine was pretty basic so maybe she didn't know a lot herself, but I wish she would have come along and helped me choose a mascara....waterprooof or no? Volumizing or lengthening? all that stuff you know? Same with shaving...I asked if I could shave my legs and she gave me a disposable razor. Wish she would have given me a 2 or 3 sentence instruction and some shaving cream along with it...
I am big into makeup now, and I watch a lot of youtube tutorial videos. One girl said in a video that the comment she gets the most when she meets fans is that their mom never taught them about makeup and how to be girlie, and she has filled that role in their lives for them. I totally relate.
And my dad never taught me anything about cars. He taught me to drive and gave me the keys to the family car when I needed it. I wish he would have taken me to the gas station and walked me through how to pump gas, how to fill up the washer fluid, etc. My boyfriend ended up teaching me all of that.. I mean, yes, any moron can figure out how to pump gas but my boyfriend taught me things like there is a holder for the gas cap on the inside of the gas door..I always set it on top of my car.
I live in Canada - I have like 10 percent of the shopping options you guys have. No rugs usa.....everything costs more here, you gotta remember that. I pay almost 6 dollars for a carton of milk!
But yeah it seems like so much money - I can't do it! I wish we had some stores
I am looking for a 5 by 7 rug for the nursery....in blues/greens and creams.
Locally I cannot find anything. I have scoured every store that carries area rugs and everything is ugly.
I found a few on Overstock that I like, but they are over 200 dollars, plus I have to pay a 30 dollar delivery fee, and then there is taxes on top of that.....so it's close to 300. Seems like way too much.
Am I being a cheap ass? I don't really have any other options if I want a rug....local shopping in my area is REALLY limited and I have not found anything in 4 months of searching.
No romantic comedies or cheesy/sappy movies please....
We're having our first date night in almost a year. Going out for dinner and then we are renting a movie. We don't watch a lot of movies, I don't even know what is "new" out right now.
What is your best meal? The meal you are best known for, or your most impressive meal that you use when entertaining company you want to impress....
I don't know if I have one! I cook simple food...I don't really have anything "fancy" that I can whip up, aside from like a roast with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy.
But I think I am best known for my mexican food. We love mexican in this house, and I make a MEAN enchilada with cilantro lime rice..mmmmm.
i'm making a new recipe tonight - Lasagne Soup. Smells good, hopefully it is!
Also, I am trying out the Man Pleasin' Chicken that is all over pinterest tomorrow.
Some of our favorites that are always in rotation...
-chicken enchiladas -taco salad -wraps/burritos/quesadillas....I stuff tortillas with whatever is on hand...ground beef and lettuce and refried beans make burritos, shredded chicken and black beans and cheese make good quesadillas, etc -Pioneer Woman's Meatballs with peppers and pineapple is a fav -chicken pot pie -I make mine with a biscuity crust instead of pie crust -stir fry, again with whatever is in the house:) -I love a good feed of sauage, sausage gravy and biscuits -baked spaghetti -Slow cooker pepper steak -Beef barley stew
Can you delete the thread with my daycare pics in it?? I didn't want ot leave it up permanently and there seems to be no delete option anymore now that the boards have switched.
Sierra it's a search engine. They give you "bucks" for being a user. They are connected to companies, so you get "bucks" for watching video clips, playing games, doing surverys for companies. You can also randomly win bucks by searching for things in their search engine. there is a daily poll you get 1 buck for. If you add their toolbar to the top of your screen, you get 1 buck every day.
You can trade in your bucks for stuff...gift cards are most popular. There are gift cards for Amazon, sephora, gap, starbucks, etc.
I will post pics of it tonight after the kids go home. It's not amazingly decorated - some rooms I haven't even painted yet. But its really well set up and it works awesome! And some stuff is cute ;D
haha, well.. Here I sit on my laptop while 3 little girls play at my feet and the baby is still napping.
There are down times for sure. I also got a load of laundry done this morning and cleaned out the daycare closet. But today is my "quiet" day and yesterday was a really hard day.. but then there are days where you need 4 arms and you don't pee until after the kids go home. But overall, it's probably a lot like being a teacher....you learn to manage your time and to get the group to do things all together, establish routines.
