I cannot fathom doing this to someone, let alone to someone who just lost a child, let ALONE a family member who just lost a child.
It makes me think she set up the GFM account in the first place with the intentions to steal from it.
Yeah, exactly. And OF COURSE she was the most vocal about donating, plastering the link everywhere. She's not just a distant cousin, she's like...his BEST FRIEND cousin. I think she even wrote the obituary. I can't even fathom this.
Yeah, he reported it go GFM and they supported him with documentation on whose account the money was transferred to, I guess. I don't know if he is going to press charges, she is a single mother and he said he doesn't want to make her child suffer for what she has done. He did blast her on FB, though, and we live in a small town. Things won't be pleasant for her around here.

I posted about my friend whose beautiful 3 year old passed away after a very brief battle with cancer about a month ago. When she was diagnosed, my friend's cousin set up a GoFundMe to help with medical costs, travel expenses (we live about 2 hours from the children's hospital where she was receiving treatment), and, after she died, funeral expenses. I think the GFM raised around $15k or something like that. Anyway, he just posted on his account that his cousin stole around $8k from the GFM donations. I can't believe anyone would do something like that, especially to a close family member. I am just sick for them. They were using part of the money for charity work and part of it for a headstone for their baby

My wall calendar is made by the soroptomist club in my town. Each day has the birthday, anniversary, or "in memory" of all of the townspeople. I realize this is no help to you, but everyone always likes a good story about my town.

I'm 34. I have a few stray greys around my part. I just started to notice them in the past year or so. My natural color is dirty blonde and the grey kind of blends in and it's hard to see them.

For a Honda I probably would, but probably nothing else. My parents bought my Focus the first year they came out and that was a NO GOOD, VERY BAD IDEA. It would totally die every time I turned right. That was fun. There were recalls on that thing practically weekly. I swear I drove a rental car for like 6 months.

*shakes fist* goddamn you, Shopkins!! Keira and Bonnie are so crazy into them. They pretend play with them all day long. They set up whole Shopkins villages all over my freaking living room. And then I step on them.
They're kind of jerks for not thinking/planning ahead. This is a tough time of year for birthdays (I know because my birthday is December 28 and my youngest brothers' is December 19).
I know, I totally feel for the boys! Their bdays are on the 5th, 17th, and 24th. It's tough! It sucks because it's such a busy time of year anyhow, but if I had known about a party a few weeks ago I would have been able to plan accordingly. I hate the last minute invite!
I wouldn't cancel my plans. Their problem for shitty planning. A breezy "oh, gosh due to the short notice we can't go. Have a great time!" and send a nice present.
Yeah, that's what I was going to do. But then I feel bad because they come to all of our birthday parties. But I send the invitations out at the proper time!

3 of my nephews (brothers) have December birthdays. BIL and SIL don't typically have big bday parties for them. We usually have cake and sing happy birthday to them on Christmas Eve, which is one of their birthdays. Last week I got a FB invite for a birthday party for the youngest like 3 days before the party. I was kind of irked at the short notice, but we were able to make it. Nephew #2's birthday is tomorrow, and I just got a FB invite to the party. Today. One day before the party. I have something else going on but now I feel like I have to cancel the first thing because of familial obligation. I am seriously annoyed at this point. I'm sure I'll get a FB invite for nephew #3's birthday party next week some time. ARGH! And then they literally never have a party for my niece, whose birthday is in Feb. AND THEY ARE PREGNANT W #5. Thankfully the new one will be born in June and not December.

She asked for science items, legos, art/craft supplies, American Girl stuff, and a pet hedgehog. She is not getting the pet hedgehog. ALTHOUGH I WANT ONE, TOO.
Is it even acceptable to just move the elf around, or do you have to do things like leave a trail of popcorn that he's stolen from the pantry or have him poop in the toilet and not flush?
Ours mostly just moves from place to place. I'm lazy.
Ancedotal, but my son's took 5 months to go down after a really bad virus. His ENT said that was on the high side of normal and just kept watching it. It went away, he got another virus, and it swelled again. That was a month ago and it is still swollen.
I'd take her in if it gets bigger, but if she has no other symptoms, I would wait.
Thanks! I'll see what her ped says this week. It's just disconcerting!

K had some type of infection in late August/early Sept. At first they thought it was strep throat, then she had a gnarly reaction to the amoxicillan, then they thought it was mono. Strep and mono tests were negative and all blood work came back normal, so they just chalked it up to some kind of unspecified virus. After the antibiotics she still had a swollen gland in her neck, but the pedi said that was normal, sometimes it takes awhile for it to go back down. I took her back for a follow-up appointment after about a month and he still wasn't concerned. Anyhow, it's been 4 months and it's still swollen. It hasn't gotten bigger, and it hasn't gotten smaller. Other than the swollen gland she has been perfectly healthy and normal, not extra tired or feverish or anything. I made her another appointment with her pedi, but I'm wondering if I should get an appointment with the children's hospital as our rural medical services aren't usually the best.

I'm glad you're at the children's hospital, I can't believe the ER sent you home without checking anything out. That is insane. I hope she gets some relief soon and I hope you get answers! Hugs.
