You are a teacher, right? Or assistant? You can use a teacher discount at michaels and stuff is way cheaper than teacher supply stores. We also want all the crap supplies in the world, so we have to bargain shop.
We used to do some things as a gift for both from Santa, things like a Wii and a telescope. They would also get plenty of their own things too, and it always worked out pretty well.
This is what I do, too. They have their own gifts, then Santa gifts are big joint gifts to share.

I love those rings! I have a similar family ring that looks like that. So pretty. And lol at the pearls! At least there are enough for your girls to have pearls for daysss.
I had no idea the Lego Friends line were so different. They're more like Playmobil. Who knew!!
they also have WAY less pieces than regular lego building sets, and are mostly bullshit like a lemonade stand and a dolphin cruise. WHO NEEDS TO MAKE A FIREHOUSE OR A SPACESHIP WHEN YOU CAN BE CUTE AND SELL LEMONADE?!
i HATE lego friends, and i don't even have a kid yet.
I have 3 girls and they love Lego Friends. They also love regular Legos. They mix and match their cutesy lemonade stands with their Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, spaceships, and firehouses. They play with all of it equally. I don't get the hate!

B was (and still is) super into Little People and Duplo blocks last year, so she got a lot of that. She also got a lot of Melissa and Doug, a small rocking chair, and baby doll stuff.
This year (she is 3, 4 in Jan) she is getting a mermaid tail blanket, this book, and some dress-up stuff, so far. I think Santa is bringing the girls a new fairy garden in an antique dresser drawer in the yard, that's the big shared Santa gift.

8 is a little young for social media, imo. My 11 yo just got a private, heavily monitored account. My 9 yo isn't ready for IG or any other social media. If you want to let him keep the account, I would block your xh from seeing his posts if he is making inappropriate comments. That's really the only option you have.

I usually only turn the heat on when the overnight low is in the 30s. It's been in the 40s lately and the thermostat says 65-68 when I wake up in the morning.
Do you think it's weird for her son to think his mom's boob could pop out at any moment?
If we are not taking about car line I think it's okay for a mom to be sexy at times. She is beautiful and from the pics I saw in the link she looks beautiful. She isn't the local 4H leader
What's wrong with being the local 4H leader? ARE WE NOT ALLOWED TO BE BEAUTIFUL, TOO?!
I think the wedding looked amazing. They are a gorgeous couple.

I read the title of this post as, "one of my houseplants won't live, I think I'm gonna die" and I thought you were being a tad dramatic. Turns out, I'm just an idiot. I'm sorry your guest will not leave. Run far, far away!

My girls have never really gotten into MLP, which makes me kind of sad, because they are awesome. Cambria is also stubbornly holding out on Harry Potter and it's pissing me off. Eff you, Percy Jackson and Maze Runner!
I'm actually really happy about the ending. I kept waiting for, "Oh and here's our president and founder now! Let me introduce you... TO GARY." lol
I did, too! I couldn't put it down.
Gary was such a douchelord.
I liked the ending as well. I like that it never actually told us what the creatures are. I also agree with the concept that infinity is something we can't really comprehend, so being faced with it would make us go insane. I struggle hardcore with the concept of any kind of infinity, space, heaven, etc. so badly, it used to keep me up at night when I was a kid.
Anyway, good book! Thanks to everyone who recommended it!
