This, right here, is utter bullshit. Don't throw a blanket over every single recovering alcoholic because of your limited experience.
Ummm...ok? Clearly you missed the "personal experience" part of my statement. The alcoholics in my life are not recovering. They try for a bit, but in the end they go crawling back to the bottle and continue to get DUI after DUI. I never said every alcoholic was like this.
No, she didn't misread. Your statement was a blanket statement about recovering alcoholics as a group, based on your personal experience. Which is a recipe for ignorant bullshit.
I love when people confess something, get flamed, and explain their way out of it. "I don't STILL do it." "Well, we talk about EVERYTHING, not just that."
Dude, then it's not a confession. Own your shit.
Um, what?
So when people question something, we're not allowed to respond?
I own our behavior. That's why I posted it in the first place. I'm not denying that we do it. All I did was provide more context.
Aaand, we do talk about everything.
??
Either you were talking shit and it was flammable, or it wasn't and you should've just not said anything. It can't be both.

I think that's easier said when you're not the confessor. It's easy not to get flamed when you are not putting anything out there.
If you don't want to get flamed don't put it out there. And if it's not really flammable, don't spin it that way and get defensive when people call you on it.
