Definitely SOMEthing right after the wedding. I had a postponed honeymoon (don't ask, it's still a sore spot) and it didn't feel like anything special. You will want some time to relax with your new husband right after the wedding too.

In my old city, people either used a full daycare or like one friend, a complicated schedule of half day nannies (preschool offered 5 days a week) and working from home on Friday afternoons. In my current city, people have full time or live in nannies.
This can be installed without the bottom plate so it is just the handles and spout sitting on the vanity. We had it in our last house and it was a great classic piece to go with the subway tile and more modern vanity (and it has a matching shower fixture too).

I have additional requirements courtesy of this weekend. The house must have a big master bathroom with double sinks and a separate toilet room. Oh, and a real size washer and dryer.

My in laws will NEVER live with us. I told my husband that I would divorce him before I lived in the same town as his family, much less the same house. But our current house is definitely not conducive to anyone with any mobility issues. We have 5 levels with the kitchen being on the bottom level and the bedrooms on the third, fourth, and fifth levels. My MIL couldn't really cope with the stairs during her two week visit, there is no way she could do it long term. My FIL has been diagnosed with Parkinson's so he would never be able to live in a house like this. I don't know about my parents. I think I could deal with my dad more than my mom. He is less negative than my mom, but needs to be around people and doing something all the time so that would be tough to deal with. I'm not sure that they would even consider it. They had my grandmother live with them for awhile and know how tough it is (and she was the NICEST, most laid back person on earth).

@shoegal
Check with the tile people about the grout width. Certain tiles need more or less distance between tiles (therefore larger or smaller grout lines) due to the material of the tile. I can't remember about slate, but I know our tile installers knew too.
I will try the oxi tip! I have tried a ton of different (well rated) grout products and they all suck.
UnderProtest: did you guys stain it yourselves or hire someone to do it? How much was it? We may have to add that to our summer house jobs.
We had someone do it, but it was one project that we might have been able to handle ourselves. It was just rubbing this paint stuff into the grout and then wiping it off the tile. I ended up touching up some spots myself and other than being somewhat time consuming (and dull), it wasn't hard. I don't remember it being expensive but it was years ago.
I will say that the tin works really well in the kitchen because it shows like, zero dirt. I love subway tile and we have it in both our bathrooms but it also makes me rage every time I am in the shower because the grout is all discolored no matter how much I scrub it. So, if you go tile, I would strongly recommend a dark (grey would look awesome with your walls) grout over light.
You know you can stain grout? We had grout in our old house that was formerly white which was stained and yellowed and looked completely awful. We had it stained a dark gray and it was SO much better.
And to the OP, I would hire at least a kitchen designer to help with the layout of the kitchen. That isn't something to screw up and they should be much more experienced in getting the right configuration. I would have to see some example pictures of the gray and navy before making any judgements.

So my ideal home would be a 4-5 bedroom, 3+ bathroom, modern home somewhere in a warm, sunny climate. I would love to return to the city we moved from, but I doubt this will happen, so I'm just hoping somewhere in the southeast. I don't necessarily want a ranch, but I definitely don't want a row house (like we are renting now with 5 levels). I want an open floor plan between the kitchen and family room and enough space for decent entertaining and lots of storage. Ideally it would have at least a 2 car garage and some outdoor living space. Oh, and it would be a short 15-20 minutes or less commute for my husband and walking distance to shops and restaurants.

So I've slacked on these because of the holidays, and well, because I haven't come up with any good ones. Today's question......what is your ideal house? Location, size, style, and price. So this must take into account your lifestyle, salary, and career availability. So, basically it's your dream home that is eventually achievable. So, no picking a $5M place in NYC if you are both teachers with no family income and hate being around tons of people.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so not completely MM related, but all the organization posts and PIPs of rooms has it on my mind.
I'm questioning my judgement in signing up for water aerobics. This requires me to shave my legs in the winter. Not fun.
Oh, I didn't even think of this aspect when considering swim classes with my kids. Urgh.
Hugs Patti.
My random, I had to pay for another package to be released from Customs jail. At least I know I will like this one, but I'm tired of paying for presents.

Charleston no questions. Isle of Palms is probably the closest beach so you can stay there and then go into the city for the food and shopping. Charleston has so much more to do than Hilton Head.

Hungry hippos was a favorite with my kids at Christmas, although I don't know that I would like to have it in my house. We bought them Go Fish (it has 8 colors to match) and they seem to like it, but they also just like to dump the cards on the floor. DO NOT buy the Thomas the Train Memory game. All the cards look the same and you will drive yourself nuts trying to play it.

I have had the same issue with my BofA card which we used almost exclusively. Customer service was great, but their only suggestion was to use safe pass for online transactions. This no longer works for me since I don't have a US cell number (it requires they text you a code for you to enter immediately).

The state is Ohio and I hope the will isn't contested, but honestly I could see why. There are a dozen beneficiaries and seemingly no rhyme or reason to how she picked them. She was widowed for many years and has no children herself, but it's an odd group of people. My mom seems to think it will require liquidating investment accounts and such, but has no clue really.

Nope, not worth it. Especially dealing with 485 or 485 under construction. Also, along with wear and tear and gas for the car, you would have to factor in the hassle of dealing with filing taxes in the other state too.

Sparks is an ass. He did a book signing at my college bookstore (years ago, maybe 2000ish) and was a jerk to everyone. I can't imagine how much more his ego has inflated since then.
