I hated it too, but I read the book several times prior to watching the movie. The books (1&2) are awesome.
I might not hate the books as much. I really think at least 40% is that the voice makes me want to slit my throat. I know that makes me an asshole because he apparently modeled it after a real kid, but oh lord.
The book is written in the same "tone" that's spoken in the movie. Reading that prior to watching the movie was...interesting
Lurker here, we use a vaporizer. It only cost $35 for the cartridge and the vap and we've had it since January and it's still half full. I love the high you get from it. A few weeks ago we bought acouple of joints before a moms night out. I'm in CO btw

That's awesome. I had a similar incident once. DH and I were at a hibachi restaurant for my 29th birthday. The chef asked if I was turning 21 and I jokingly said "no, 18". The Russian guys next to us says to his buddy "18? Yeah more like 40" in Russian. So I picked up my phone and called my grandma. The look on their faces was priceless. If I was more comfortable with Russian to be sarcastic I would have said something to them, but this was the next best thing.

15 min morning recess between literacy and math. Then 30 min recess followed by a 30 minute lunch followed by a 30 minute quiet time. Then there's a 15 minute afternoon recess between specials and social sciences.
The poster has been all over my Facebook with pictures of the truck. We used to live in that neighborhood and loved it. It's so quiet and quaint. This story makes me sick. I can't believe they released him
When I told my normally very sane MIL that I was thinking of signing DD1 up for yoga, she broke down in tears and said "but yoga is a gateway to Buddhism"
My DD had hers done for her 7th birthday. I took her to a tattoo shop where they do piercings as well. She teared up a bit, but it was really no big deal. I don't remember there being any swimming restrictions
I want to read the book. *obligatory nerd comment*
The books are very good! I am reading book 2 right now (Shadows of the Workhouse). They kind of mishmashed all 3 books together for what happened in season 1 and 2.
Episode 5 of season 2 was so heartbreaking, it is my favorite though.
was this the episode where the mom wanted to terminate her pregnancy?
My 3 year old has some sensory issues and is super picky so she gets the following 3 days a week for preschool
Roasted red pepper hummus and cheese sandwich with whole wheat bread Sugar snap peas Baby carrots Honeydew, grapes or strawberries Stonyfield tube (won't eat any other kind)
I'd love to pack her some other stuff like I do for my 7 year old, but she is guaranteed to eat this and she's really little so I'm sticking with what works.
I LOVE your SN & avatar - that's one of the best movies ever made. EVER.
It definitely is one of the best. First time I ever saw it was in Russia with my parents. I went to the Coronado hotel last year and completely geeked out seeing where it was filmed
I understand they might not have much control over what's shown, but if they at least had a disclaimer at the ticket office, I could have taken her out to the hallway during previews
The show started at 7 and no nudity or anything but talk of killing people, burning down houses, kicking of old men. Overall, it was a pretty scary preview especially for little kids
I think the late time was part of the reason for the Catching Fire preview.
One of my friends who has a very stict early bedtime (so I'm assuming went to an earlier showing) said that they saw the same preview last week
This is one of the movie houses where you get there early and order food. If they just had a disclaimer at the ticket office, I could have taken her out in the hallway after we placed our order

XP'ing this from CEP since I accidentally posted first on there
Last night DH and I took our girls (7 and 4) to see Despicable Me 2 at a local theater (not AMC or Regal). During the previews, right between Turbo and Cloudy with a chance of meatballs was one for Hunger Games. My 3 year old was terrified. She covered her Hello Kitty's eyes and started crying saying she didn't want them to burn down our house. I know there's probably not much that management can do, but would you call them? If I had known that's what would be shown I could have taken her to the bathroom during the previews.
