Might be seeing a friend tonight. We usually go see them on our way to OBX. But since we didn't go this year, we haven't seen them. Getting together with friends for NYE. While I am excited to hang out with my friends, I am not looking forward to spending the evening with my friend's 4 kids. The last time we were there, their son told me that I was big (aka fat). And my friend is the uber-helicopter parent.
After that, H and I are going to do more unpacking over the weekend. And probably go see the Star Wars movie.
1. lose weight (we are signing up for the gym in our new town and I am thinking of getting a personal trainer to get me started) 2. IVF (we are doubly insured right now since H's insurance covers IVF up to $35,000 lifetime max, so we'll use that before we use our cash) 3. make a list of things to see/do locally and start doing them 4. spend more time with family 5. make more friends (I want H to feel like we have friends other than my sister and BIL and my friends from HS and their spouses) 6. spend less time GBCN-ing at work and more time working. I want to do well in this job. I think our group is going to have teams, and I would love to get a promotion.
Thursday: take the dog to camp, wrap presents, make my grandmother's coffee cake, do some more unpacking, go to my dad's for our Christmas with them Friday: sleep in with H, have a leisurely breakfast together, exchange our gifts to each other, go to my sister's house for Christmas, and move the last of H's things out of their garage apartment.
We've been apart since the end of August making the transition to MD, so we are excited to be spending it together and to have some time just for us.
Be careful on how much steroid cream you use. Your body can become addicted to it and go through horrible withdrawal. The withdrawal is much worse than the initial problem.
We closed on our house in GA this morning. And we are signing a lease on a place in MD this afternoon. H and I have been living apart since the end of August while we made the transition from GA to MD. We'll be under the same roof on Wednesday and sleeping in our own bed. Woohoo!!
Movers are loading our things in the truck today, realized we needed specific bolts to secure our washer drum, went to get those and got rear ended. The woman was yelling at me from inside the car, wouldn't give me her information, so I called the police. Had to wait around for him to arrive but got it all sorted out. Car and I are both fine. And the kicker, closing is delayed until the 15th. Ugh.
High: spending the weekend with H in Florida (went to see FIL and his gf for Thanksgiving); I got my L&O OMG bag just in time for the trip
Low: H wasn't feeling great on the day we left and he forgot his wallet in his car. We travel using our work ids, so we didn't realize it until we got there. After that it was NBD. Not really a low, but I have determined that I just can't spend more than 3 days around my FIL's gf. She is a nice person but is a nervous nelly and always trying to be helpful... it just gets old.
WTF moment: I thought I had dropped my iphone at the airport. It came out of the case, and I discovered the case in my back pocket. I looked in my purse and didn't see it. So the parking guy drove us back while I looked for it. Should have played the "find my iphone" sound earlier... phone was in my purse the whole time. Oops.
I am annoyed. I ordered a new purse last week. It shipped and the tracking number said it would be delivered today. When I checked today, it says that FedEx has transferred it to the Post Office and it will now be delivered by the end of the day on Wednesday. And since we are flying out on Wednesday, I guess I won't have my new purse for the trip.
The only thing I like about it is that it is big enough to hold a 15" laptop. I wish that my OMG (which is currently on its way to me... squee!!) could carry the larger laptop.
womet -- interesting that there's a multi-line discount there because they definitely aren't the same company. Geico is Berkshire Hathaway and Travelers is its own behemoth. Maybe some agency relationship based on what Geico can't/doesn't write?
Yeah, they must have a relationship then since they aren't the same company.
When I worked for the state, they made people share rooms. Several of my coworkers got letters from their doctor outlining why they needed their own room.
We have Geico for auto and Traveler's for home. They must be the same company (or somehow related) because we get the discount for having them both.
ETA: Once we close on the house, we are probably going to switch to Erie Insurance. They are an east coast company and cover as far south as NC. Had them growing up, my parents each still use them.
I contacted her - it looks like she's pretty backed up right now (which I totally understand - I do custom pet ornaments and am totally backed up too).
That doesn't surprise me since we're getting close to Christmas.
Someone posted something similar recently, but I wanted to share this with you guys. H and I are closing on our house right before Christmas, and he is rather emotional about selling the house. So I had an ornament made to look like our house from www.etsy.com/shop/FourbyBay. I am so pleased with how it turned out and cannot wait for H to see it.
