I posted about people being rude and disrespectful to others and said for people to stop being a bunch of titty babies. This came after: "Being a bunch of titty babies? Our country just reelected a man I'm not sure was ever really eligible by birth and definitely NOT having any experience. I have no doubt he is solely responsible for the MURDER of 4 Americans for HIS political gain, had damn near destroyed our economy, turned up into a nation of takers, and will be responsible for the demise of Israel, so yeah....if you like his traitorous ass, feel free to remove yourself. I refuse to support ANYONE who makes ANY excuses for him, or anyone who makes excuses for those who support him. He's not MY president!"
I was planning on deleting her eventually because she has always been out there. On election day, I found out she was an ignorant bigot. I was going to let everyone have fun with her but she deleted me after I told her she was a lunatic.

The commute to FS from RH is 45 min if you go to the main gate. It's only 20 min if you go in the back gate. That gate is also closer to Wynn. It's not a bad drive at all.
ok, it sounds like I should bump it up to the top of my list. We have 12 places to choose from and hopefully when DH and I compare lists, we'll match a few
Other than OCONUS or Hawaii(which you've been to, lol) Stewart would definitely top my list. They've built a lot of new buildings on post and expanded quite a bit. Savannah is gorgeous and has so much to do. Plus there's so much history, you can always take little field trips with DS. The food is incredible. Tybee Island is close and a ton of fun with outstanding food as well. You're not far from Charleston, SC or Florida. You can always trip up to Atlanta if you want some big city time. And the locals are amazing, very southern traditional, will welcome you into their home people. DH and I have seriously considered retiring in Savannah. I was born there, we spent some time there while AD, got married there, love it.
I would seriously do back flips and jump up and down squeeling like a 10 year old girl meeting Justin Beiber if either you or Stan moved back here.

Richmond Hill is a great community. Overall, Ft Stewart is a great base. Hinesville just isn't a great area. I wouldn't rule FS out just because of Hinesville, though. There are so many great things about the greater Savannah area.

Hi! Honestly, Hinesville's schools suck. They are some of the worst schools in the area. If I were you, I'd look into housing in the Richmond Hill area. It's a great area to live in. Schools are wonderful. There are always community events around. It would be a 15-20 min commute to Ft Stewart, but it's worth it. It's a far better area. Also, aviation and a few others get orders to FS but are moved to Hunter Army Airfield after processing. It's something you may want to check into. It would suck to find a house close to FS only to be moved over to HAAF. I've seen it happen a few times. Let me know if you have any questions about the area.

We drink a crap ton of coffee. I bought H a coffee pot for his office a few years ago. He says it was the best gift ever. He'll drink an entire pot through out the day. Through their building, he and the retention guy are the only people with coffee pots. Because Brass is always in his office getting a refill or 6, they started supplying him with coffee and filters. I usually drink 1-3 cups a day.

I would use the harness not only to keep him safe but also to strap him down. Also, bring plenty of snacks and things to distract him with. A bottle or something he can suck on will help his ears for take off and landing.

(1) You are alone, and your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Your cell phone barely works and only has enough battery power for one call. Which Nextie do you call? She's not on much any more, but I'd pick HS since she only lives down the road from me and can take me home.
(2) You are in a horrible airplane crash. Everybody on the plane is dead except you and your child. You are both rushed to the hospital, and you are told you will die soon and must select a Nextie to become your child's guardian. Which Nextie do you select? Big Mamma, she's such a good mommy to her little people and I know she'd take care of mine.
(3) You are in a zombie apocalypse and can select only one Nextie to fight alongside with you to survive. Whom do you pick? BLT, she's got skills.
(4) It is your last night on Earth, and the only person you can hang out with tonight is a Nextie. Whom do you choose, and what do you do together? Stan, she's got a goofy side and I know she'd be able to keep the mood on the lighter side while we do anything but think about dying.
(5) You are captured by a cult and must become a sister wife to the cult leader or die. You do not want to die. You have the opportunity to pick three Nextie sister wives. Go. Beans, Ojo and Sibil. I'm fairly certain the three of us can come up with a kick ass plan to get rid of the douchebag and get away.

Hi! I'm from Savannah. There are so many things to do here. As far as shopping, walk down Broughton St. There are a ton of little shops on and just off Broughton. There are also a few great shops in City Market and on River Street. For breakfast, try Clary's and B Mathew's. For lunch, Soho South Cafe is my favorite. Sundae Cafe on Tybee Island is great. I also love Vinnie van Go-go's (cash only), One Eyed Lizzie's, Taco Abajo, and The Boar's Head. For dinner, Garibaldi's, jazz'd, SOL, Leoci's The Crab Shack, Sundae Cafe, North Beach Grill and Shell House are my favorites. A Haunted Pub Crawl is always fun for a girl's weekend. We have no open container law here. You can walk around with a drink in your hand as long as it is in a cup. The Haunted Pub Crawl is a walking tour that takes you to several haunted bars. You can stop in each place and get a discounted drink to drink while you walk to your next pub. We have also done a girl's night on the Slow Ride. It is a bicycle built for 12. It's great fun. You ride to music you choose and you stop at several bars along the route. There is a trolley tour you can take from the visitor's center. Make sure you get the one you can get on and off all day. It's usually $10/person for a 2 day pass. It's a great way to get around and learn about the city. You can get off at any stop and then catch another later. Captain Mike's Dolphin Tour leaves out of Lazzaretto Creek on Tybee Island. It is a great tour to take early in the mornings or in the evenings when the dolphins are more active. You see a good number of dolphins and see beautiful surroundings. While you are out at Tybee, go see the light house and Ft Pulaski. Savannah Smile's Piano Bar is a great place to have some fun. Also, check to see if there are any festivals running. October is usually our busiest time of year for great festivals.

I would go with the hospital I liked, especially if they are less likely to try to push you to meds. I delivered at a hospital that claims to be more natural, but they all thought I was crazy for not getting an epidural. With Brody, he started to have issues, so my MW put me on pitocin. The nurse called the anesthesiology with out even asking me. They were both shocked and told me I was doing myself a disservice no just getting the epidural and relaxing. I was having no issues with the pain. I had other nurses coming in to check out the mom on pitocin doing it with out pain meds. It was annoying.

No, I could never be a stripper. I was, however, a bartender and manager of a club where the female bartenders danced on the bar. We wore some very skimpy out fits. I can't even strip for my husband with out getting the giggle fits. I could never do it and be serious.

I'm sorry I'm late posting. I wasn't online much this weekend. The first time I was a SAHM, I hated it. I was 19. I knew very few people in that area and none of the people my age had kids. I tried to join a few mommy groups, but everyone else was in their 30's and I was a fish out of water. I kept to myself a lot. Stayed home all the time. I was lonely and miserable. That marriage came to an end. I had dreams of joining the Reserves as an MP, going to the Police Academy and getting a degree. Life got in the way. I am now remarried and have two more kiddos. That's 4 total. My husband and I decided both of us having dangerous jobs was not a good idea. We also wanted me to be able to stay home with the kids since he is gone the majority of every year. I was worried I'd feel lost again this time. I decided to do things differently. Even with little ones in tow, I got involved in anything I could. I volunteer with the FRG, a local pet rescue, our church and the school my kids go to. When the younger two were still home, we went to story time at the library, toddler time at the zoo and anything else we could do to keep busy and help them learn. Now that everyone is in school, I actually have a clean house, lol. As a SAHM, I'm able to do so many things I couldn't do if I were working. I volunteer at the school. I go on field trips with them. I coach volleyball. I've started my own non-profit organization. I've also discovered a new dream I never thought I would ever consider. I have found a passion for teaching. Volunteering at school and coaching have only reaffirmed this feeling. I am starting classes for winter semester. I've also talked to the school about substituting when they need help. Because of my military past, I don't need a certificate right away to do that. We are all really excited about it. I can't wait to get started. My point is, don't look at it as a negative. There are so many things you can do to take advantage of the time you have at home with your kiddo. You don't have to do it all from home. Get involved outside the home. Find things that interest you. There are so many things you can do. A friend was in your shoes. She was a teacher who had a baby right after they PCSd here. They decided for her to take a break until baby is three. She became depressed until I told her to find things to make her happy. She has since started a blog that has taken off. She has also found several online homeschooling communities where she can make a good bit of extra money by tutoring kids online. She still gets to teach but she's doing it from home with her baby girl right beside her. Ok, I know I'm rambling.
Lately, it's the amount of babysitting expected of NCOs.
Let me tell you about my E-6 husband having to babysit the new Capt. Holy crap! The Company Commander literally told him to not let him out of his site.
GA started requiring voter IDs in 2005. In the election before that, my small little town that had a bit over 1500 registered voters had 9 dead people WALK into city hall and vote. It was a huge scandal here. One of the men was caught off the starting block because he was using the ID of his dead brother who everyone knew died a few months before. It wasn't a big time election that they were trying to get votes for. It was a small town city council election. It didn't make big time news because no one cares about a bunch of hicks fighting with each other over how much parking should cost and if we need a recreation department or not. Does voter fraud happen often? No, but it does happen more often than what most of us hear about. In GA the DMV is required to have a separate line for those people who are seeking only an ID, not a driver's license. I took my grandmother several months ago for her ID. It took us 15 min from the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out. This is not a small town. I bet my ass other states aren't as efficient, but that's something they need to work on. If I can go have a federal back ground check complete with fingerprinting done at the UPS store for the school I'm coaching for, the state should be able to work something like that out, too. Hell, the post office needs something to do. You used to be able to go to the police department and have an ID issued. Do I think it should be only a state issued ID to be able to vote? No. Please excuse me if I am seem to be rambling. I'm currently being attacked by three crazy kittens.
This is totally off-topic (sorry)... but will I be able to bring my baby into the booth with me when I go to vote? This shouldn't be a problem, right?
(Sorry if this is a stupid question!)
I take my children with me for every election. I think it is important to teach them about the process. I was scared to death of messing something up when I first voted. I don't want them to feel that way. I also want them to feel a sense of pride in voting and being a part of the process. My oldest is 14. He is fascinated with elections. We were just having a talk about it the other day. He believes, in a perfect world, that we should go back to when the person with the most votes in a Presidential election would be President and the person with the next highest would be VP. He thinks there would be less fighting. He also is in favor of dumping the party system and the electoral college. It's interesting to talk to him about his opinions.
There are resources. There are many organizations here that will drive you to the DMV to get an ID and register to vote. Those same organizations will drive you to your voting station. Our county is also considering free bus fare to and from polling places. I've been dirt floor poor before. I managed to do it. I had some one make that same point to me while she was holding a bag full of Arby's food. If you can afford to go to Arby's you can get your self to the DMV. I can feed my family for a week off what it costs for the 6 of us to buy lunch at Arby's.
I think you should have to show ID. How do you know a person is who they say they are if they aren't showing an ID? During every election, we hear of voter fraud. It will go down significantly if we have to show an ID. Legally, you are supposed to carry ID with you anyway. An ID here costs $5 and last 5 years. That's not expensive. If the state is willing to pay for it, I would be even more inclined to vote yes on it.
That was funny. I'm probably slightly Dugger mom and a little bit Pinterest mom but not fully any of them. I think they left out a few moms. I can't stand "What ever" mom. She's the one who forgets she brought a kid with her. Meanwhile, her kid is beating up the other kids, has colored all over the hostesses couch, and raided the refrigerator.
