2. Can we get occasional updates on what we've accomplished in terms of a total? I think people find that very motivating and we can use it to keep the subject line and thread fresh.
I thought it was just a button to deep six the posts. Do you manually have to do each?
It's a fairly simple command but it requires a bunch of steps--figuring out a username, getting several clicks into an admin control panel, typing that username, pulling up and validating a post count, checking off two boxes and also typing the word "delete" to show you're truly serious and know what you're doing.
On my computer it's simple and fast enough but none of this works In the app or is mobile optimized. So it's all pinch and scroll on weekends when the requests actually come.
My coach gave me some paperwork about expectations and then had me fill out a form about my goals and what would make our sessions successful. She already knew me a bit because we work together. We meet every two weeks and I have homework between sessions.
While we are bitching about moderating... at least once a week I get a PM from some random non-regular asking me to delete some random thread or post, but with only a description (e.g. Can you please delete my post about uncle Fred from last week? Thanks!). As though I have committed to memory every single thread from every single poster on every single sub board and can just call them up at will.
So does there need to be a policy change gbcn-wide about the ability to ask for your posts to be wholesale deleted?
Still catching up but God I'd love this. They are the bane of my existence. Inevitably they come just to me and on weekends, so I'm like with my husband out somewhere trying to do it on my phone screen so I don't forget.
Wtf are you people posting that is so sensitive? Why do you always remember on weekends?!?!
I forgot when I posted earlier that I couldn't just jump in and remove my pic of the AG party room. I wanted to share the pic for a while and then take it down. Can one of you just take down the pic that has the girls in it? All the other content is fine to stay. I would be grateful. :-)
I do think we need to be careful about assuming the culprit was someone from this or that board though, unless there was a message with the package that would lend creedence to that. It could be some other asshole.
The package was sent in the middle of a heated thread, from a site that has been widely discussed on this board, and smo's name (and former work address) was obtained through common social network connections with others here.
There is little doubt that a poster here did this - and not just any poster, but a regular one with social connections to others.
Wow, I'm really sorry to hear this. It's scary to think that someone could figure out your real name and address like that!
Admins, was the database hacked or something? Is there any way of tracing who got her info, or any way to make posting here more secure?
Sent from my SM-G900T using proboards
What?! No.
No. Definitely no. The source of this is not a hack (not that we even have addresses), nor secret santa. Just old fashioned google and info you can find here or through connections to social networks. Which further bolsters the troubling theory that this was a regular connected to others here.
I hope SMO will call the police about harassment and they can force this company to give me an IP address, a billing zip code, an email...something we can use for matching and getting whoever did this the hell out of here.
We have zero tolerance for bringing things into people's real lives.
I am so sorry that this happened and if there's any way we can be of assistance in finding out who did this, we will be.
Can the gummy company sender provide an IP address for the person making the order that we can use for matching? With police involvement that might be possible...?
We will not tolerate people taking things from this board into people's real world (jobs, addresses, names, etc) without their consent. It's rule number 1 of GBCN.
The "official" measurement for DC (taken at DCA) is only giving DC 17.8" but we had at least that before the final wave yesterday afternoon. There's at least 2' out there where I am (a few miles NW of DCA)
The main road in front of our house is still white, though I expect it to get cleared soon We are going to attempt an excursion to a park to build a snowman, but I am not sure how we are going to get the toddler there....our stroller is crap in the snow.
We live right by dca and got at least another 6" yesterday afternoon. I hope they update it--it should be 22-24
Mr.Kirkette gets about 2 -3 offers/ year to work out there. I think his job may move out there in 4 years from now. My mom isn't on board with the snow, which is the main reason we keep turning away offers. I'm not moving across the country without free childcare assistance. We have too good of a village here + perfect weather.
Snow is the best here because there is zero expectation you'll go anywhere in it. You basically get a few random Netflix holidays.
