What zone are you? I think a tulip tree (which is related to magnolia) would be gorgeous there, but they're not good in dry climates or super cold ones.

Ours die back to mostly twigs over the winter, but they're always at least a little green. This is just an uneducated guess, but I'd say if everything else is green or blooming, it probably died.

What are you training for? Date? Getting back in shape. Even if that shape is round. I'm thinking maybe of doing an easy 4-miler in July. We'll see how getting back on the horse goes.
Training plan for the week? Swim Friday. First one since ... October, maybe?
Any issues or vents? I can't find my favorite swimsuit. I'm pretty sure I didn't leave it somewhere, but I have no idea where it went. Also not sure where my good goggles are.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Nothing H&F, but R has some job offers in the works and I have a house in escrow. So that's exciting!!
I swam the farthest I've ever swam without stopping today - 2500 yds. Woo!
mrshandy , I have the exact same problem. I have to take at least one benedryl but sometimes 2 after I swim. I've talked to my allergist about it and he's been extremely unhelpful (he's also an annoying flirt and I need to fire him and find someone else but that's another story). Anyhoo, I think I've determined it's to do with something called chloramines? Anyway. Good luck. It sucks.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only crazy person that thinks that they are allergic to their pool.
Nope, I get it too. I think it's because chlorine is an irritant and I get a lot in my sinuses. Have you tried a nose clip? I've got friends who swear by them.

So all my swimmy friends are at SCAR right now and, while I have no interest in swimming SCAR, I'm having terrible jealousy. Also, they did A today and OMG, only 5 people finished. Ooof, that is one cranky lake. (www.scarswim.com)

Do you have a price range? There's some really nice stuff out there, particularly in the synthetic resin (stuff that looks like wicker but isn't) category. I'd probably avoid the synthetic resins made with pvc, though, as it's not very UV stable. Get the stuff made of HDPE instead. You could also look into teak.
Cushions can withstand rain if you buy the good ones and take care of them, but I've sat on some that held water longer than expected and that was an unpleasant surprise, so I'd avoid furniture with cushions, personally.
Are you looking for chairs or a lounger or a dining set?
This makes me rage. I'm 5'4", between 150-155, and do CF and run half marathons. I was finally to the point where I was accepting my body for its strength vs. the number I see on the scale. It's taken forever to get to this point. Now I feel like I'm back to square one. I didn't consider myself "heavy" at 150. Now I suddenly do. I hate this.
I mean, you certainly don't have to register in the category regardless of your weight. And *LOVE* your body - it can do amazing freaking things!
I just found this article: www.runnersworld.com/for-beginners-only/why-do-athenaclydesdale-categories-exist Honestly, I have never heard of Athena/Clydesdale category until this thread but the article claims it is optional and exists to encourage participation via the incentive to win/place in new categories. Some races actually weigh you when you pick up your race packet! WTF?
Because what would encourage me, as a heavier athlete, to participate and feel included is having to label myself as heavier/different from everyone else.

Around here, the most common issues are mortgage or insurance related (I.e. the buyer can't find an insurance company to cover the property at a reasonable cost). Occasionally, we'll have a late title issue as well.
However, this stuff is rare and as long as you're moving steadily along and don't do something dumb like buying a new car, continue to think good thoughts.
My grandmother also called them afghans, as does my mom.
Afghans in our family too.
I call it an afghan if crocheted and a blanket if knitted. No idea how this weird thing happened.
But to the point, I love that yarn and yarn crafts are making a comeback, AND that folks of all ages, backgrounds (and foregrounds, if you will), and belief systems are putting their needles where their heart is.

Ok, with the knowledge that we're talking about <1k here, I say fine, go for it. I'd order down to at least a large, maybe a medium, depending on boobage. I mean, I am currently 213 pounds and wear a 36-38 in tyr. I think it's cute, and the girls at the college practice after masters most certainly wear less practical suits successfully.

We're in Vegas for the weekend. It's 12:31. The dude in the room next door to us is having a very loud argument with some woman on the phone, I think something about texting.
The reason I don't know for sure? That asshole is fighting in a language I don't know (and can't even identify). For God's sake, if you're going to have a rip-snortin fight in a hotel room at 12:30am, do it in a language I speak so I can at least listen shamelessly and be entertained.
ETA: I'm still listening shamelessly, but instead I'm just making up the translation as they go along. So far, he's a cheating toolbag and she's going to sell his stuff on the street.
Turns out it's Tunisian crochet. I took it to the lys owner and she said I can probably do it myself. So I'm going to give it a go and if I fail, she's recommended a couple locals who could do it.

I'm First Middle Maiden Last. I use both my middle initials if I'm signing something hugely legal (like buying a house or something) but otherwise, I just sign first last for everything.
I had a bit of a kerfuffle with the SSA to get it done properly, but since then, I haven't had any real issues with it.

Without knowing your COL and how fancy your trim is, I have to say that sounds reasonable to me, mostly because this covers all trim, doors, and the stairway spindles, which, IMO, are a giant PITA to paint. In fact, all of these things are legit my least favorite things to paint - I'd rather do another 25 cabinets than even consider doing stairway spindles, and I've been putting off painting the trim in my kitchen for (literally) years.

I'm stuck on the fact that he called you and your "in-the-trenches" opinion condescending from his high holy (note the lower case there) seat in the clouds. That's rich.

I'd talk to a lawyer. At least where I live, that's considered a "private nuisance"; they're staying on their own property, but they're significantly affecting your ability to enjoy your own property and your expected rights to peace and quiet.
The middle photo at the top might be daisies? Do you have a listing photo w/the plants in bloom? I'd just let them grow and see if/when they bloom. We did that for several years at our house.
It should be easier to tell when they leaf and grow a bit more.
