I'm so sorry about this. I would definitely look for a registered dietitian to work with, even if it means finding someone outside of the military. I'll note that so many medical doctors like to give out nutrition advice, but they don't spend a lot of time in medical school learning about nutrition. Certainly not as much time as RDs do.
They endorsed boosters for those 65+ and those who run a high risk of disease. They don’t usually delay votes— the whole point of the meetings is to get their expert opinion on the evidence to help the agency make a decision.
Clearly I’m going crazy. I thought I read something about them putting off one of the votes.
This vote was only about Pfizer boosters. Votes on Moderna and J&J will come later.
It’s not yet approved. The advisory committee only makes recommendations. The agency takes that under advisement before making a final decision.
And now that I am catching up, didn’t they delay the vote on 65+?

I am in the exam room for my yearly physical and declined to be weighed. 🙂 I have gained between 6-10 pounds due to an ongoing pretty intense hip injury (can’t even go for walks) so I’m sensitive about scales right now. They were so great about it.
eta: clean bill of health, RXs renewed, and we talked through my concern that my dentist will be making fun / complaining about me in secret notes.
I had a telehealth appt with a nurse this week for a persistent cough that I have had. At the end, she said that she was required to tell me that my BMI is above the recommended range. She was nice about it, and I was nice back. But I told her that she wasn't telling me anything I didn't already know. Did she think I woke up that morning and was suddenly overweight? And did the higher ups really think that mentioning this was going to do anything to get my weight down? No, in fact the only thing that it does is make fat people feel less seen by the medical community. And I was annoyed that it was mentioned since the condition I was being seen for was not related to weight. And my treatment plan was not impacted by my weight. It felt so good to say all of this. I promise that it was a nice conversation-- on both sides. She's also overweight and said she personally agreed with everything I said.
And look, there is no defense to her past posts/dms/actions. It doesn't seem like anyone, including CT is defending those actions.
But people can and do change. That’s what the entire field of psychology is about - behavior/cognitive change.
I think this is where my feelings lie. And I say this not to defend a bully, because the things she said were awful. And maybe she’s only on the “apology tour” because it affected her financially. But don’t we (general societal we) talk about addicts having to hit rock bottom and then find recovery? Maybe this was her rock bottom and she is truly doing the work to realize how terrible she was in her insecurities, etc.
I also say all of this in that I’m generally a “give everyone the benefit of the doubt” and probably semi-toxically positive person. But I do believe that people can put in the work and learn from their mistakes. Unfortunately those in the public eye have to do so publicly and nobody is ever going to be happy either way.
I think her "apology tour" and all are a direct result of her sobriety. I suspect that getting sober and the work that she is putting into that is making her look at her past behavior. I'd like to think that her apologies are sincere and that she is working on being a better and nicer person.
I fell down a Twitter rabbit hole of someone drilling down into a lingering question I’ve had: what ever happened with that mysterious vaping-related lung issue, which kinda presents like covid. If case you forgot about it, it died out 2020. And while they tested for known pathogens, it’s not clear if they ever sequenced for novel pathogens. I didn’t have the time today to read all the citations and such, but, the gist is in the tweet below. Am I a conspiracy theorists for wondering if this is a thing? It has crossed my mind before.
Which says: I have to share this.
please consider in light of all the unprecedented breakdowns & betrayal
Hypothesis:
EVALI vaping illnesses were mostly covid, caused by cryptic transmission of a less effective ancestral variant of sarscov2 pmj.bmj.com/content/96/1141/686.long…
Nope. I think this is really far fetched. It was linked with Vitamin E acetate in the e-liquids used by those affected.
My H has issues with hard stools because he takes pain medications daily for his fibromyalgia. He was taking stool softeners and miralax, but he found that Raisin Bran worked as well as Miralax. So now, he has a bowl of cereal 4-5 days a week.
We're dealing with this for my grandmother. She has Alzheimer's and we're doing what we can to keep her at home for as long as possible. She's still fairly independent, so having home health aide's come and help her with house chores and making her meals helps a lot. She's physically in good shape, considering she's 95 and has Alzheimer's.
It should make no difference. We have minimum spacing between vaccine doses, but generally not maximum spacing between doses. But even if there were a maximum, it would not be 4 weeks. It would be much longer.
The wording says "vaccines may be administered up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose. Currently, only limited data are available on efficacy of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines administered beyond this window." The 6 week window is only because we don't have data yet on the efficacy after 6 weeks. Once these have been around longer and we have more data, I am sure we'll see that they are effective if the second dose is given later than 6 weeks.
The New York Times reports Walgreens has not been following federal guidelines for the spacing between Pfizer doses. The large drugstore chain, which has administered over 8 million vaccines, automatically schedules second doses of Pfizer vaccines for four weeks after the first, rather than the three week gap recommended by U.S. and Pfizer officials. Since Walgreens also administers Moderna vaccines, which are given four weeks apart, it made the decision to default to four weeks between all vaccines to simplify appointment scheduling. While there’s no clinical evidence that an extra week between doses impacts efficacy, the CDC recommends adhering to the three week separation tested in clinical trials.

My HG face primer, Urban Decay Optical Illusion, has been discontinued. Anyone have a good replacement? I LOVE that stuff. Haven’t had to wear powder over my foundation for as long as I’ve been using it (couple of years or so).
I don't know if you've gotten a response on this, but I love the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer. I used to get it at Sephora, but it looks like Ulta sells it now. I prefer getting the larger size (2oz)-- it comes in a squeezable plastic bottle which makes it easier to get all of the product out. The smaller size comes in a glass bottle, and I feel like it leaves a fair amount in the bottle when no more comes out of the pump.
😂 but also 😩 at the truth of some of it. If my FIL tells us one more time that he paid for his college tuition with his summer job, I think H is gonna poke him in the eyes
I saw a TikTok recently that was an economics teacher talking about how paying for college when our parents were in college was possible with a part time job earning minimum wage. But for that to be possible today, minimum wage would need to be $125/hr. It's nuts.
"While some recollections may vary" sounds like some gaslighting BS. Reading between the lines it sounds like they're insinuating H & M aren't remembering those conversations accurately. I doubt you forget someone saying racist nonsense about your baby's skin tone.
That's what I thought too. I'm disappointed but not really surprised.
I was not getting queen, Kate, or Will vibes from them. There didn’t seem as much pain laced when those people came up. But mentions of Charles seemed fraught so my money is on him as the perpetrator of the most evil things we heard. I think the others were just silent / “neutral” (which is equally damaging).
So I heard them say that there were several conversations about the color of their baby's skin. But I didn't get the sense that all of these conversations happened when Meghan was pregnant, so I wonder if there were conversations that took place prior to their wedding. Almost as a way to get them to slow down... and we know that William thought that Harry was moving too quickly with Meghan. So if the first conversation took place before the wedding, I have a hard time thinking it was Charles. I don't think Harry or Meghan would have asked him to walk her down the aisle if he said that about their future child. So I think if a conversation took place ahead of their wedding, then it was with William. But that doesn't mean that Charles wasn't having the same conversations with Harry after the wedding. And they're all complicit in this by not speaking out, correcting the record, stopping these terrible stories about Meghan.
I think that the same comms people who were involved in preventing Meghan from correcting the record publicly also prevented Kate from correcting the record on the story about her crying over bridesmaids dresses. But I think that William and Charles are in a stronger position as future monarchs to shut that shit down. And they haven't. Charles is clearly afraid of being the bad guy again in the media like he was with Diana. I think he's worried about how the public will view him if he says something and the media are not kind to him.
I think the BRF missed a golden opportunity. Meghan and Harry want to and are wiling to lead a life of service. And they are great at it. I think that Meghan has a work ethic similar to that of Princess Anne. And if you look at the people who are full time working royals, there are a decent number who are getting up there in age. They may want to retire soon, or worse may die. By pushing Harry and Meghan out, they are going to be strapped for people within the family who can be full time working royals. So they will need to reduce the number of royal patronages that they have... significantly.
Oprah tweeted out this AM that Harry wanted to confirm the skin color conversation was not between he and his grandparents. So that means it was probably with Charles or William.
I find it so interesting how he went to lengths to protect the Queen. He clearly is very fond of her and wants to make it clear she is not running the show right now. He mentioned in the James Cordon interview and this one several times that he is in contact with her. Which to me says he is BIG MAD at his dad and wants others to know that.
I just looked at Oprah's tweets, and I don't see anything from today. Was this sent from another account or through another social media platform? Thanks!
On the technology theme... I want a Apple Watch. Will a SE over a series 6 be a mistake?
Speaking of Apple Watches, I am so incredibly thankful for mine. I felt a little lightheaded yesterday, so I sat in the recliner and used the ECG function to see if there was anything abnormal. Well, there was. I was in Atrial Fibrillation. I called my doctor, and he had me go to the ER. They did a CT scan to check for blood clots-- there were none. And then they decided to do a cardioversion on me-- they put me out for a few minutes and gave me a small shock to get my heart back into a normal rhythm. They sent me home an hour later, and I feel fantastic today.
I would have had no idea without my Watch. I would have gone about my day and had planned on working out last night with my trainer.
I booked it through this link: massvax.maryland.gov/. It looks like they are doing a drive thru clinic at Six Flags. And you book your second appt at the same time. So I have one this Sunday and one 3 weeks later (so it looks like it will be the Pfizer vaccine they administer).
Thanks! It just says there are no locations near my address. Obviously we're willing to travel, but I wonder if they're targeting certain zip codes. We'll wait until it shows availability. I had no idea that link existed. Thanks!!
I think they're just booked for the appts that they have released. Keep checking though.
