These are my drapes in my living room. Everything is pretty neutral - griege walls, brown sofa and dark brown leather chairs. I have a bit of that robins egg blue color mixed in with a painted oar on the wall, a throw blanket, etc. I have a couple of throw pillows that are cream with blue grain sack stripes but I need a whole ton more as we just built a big window seat.
I am thinking of adding some navy? Or yellow? I have a very hard time mixing patterns so I need some help! I am thinking some pillows in a stripe, and some in a small geometric (nothing too Modern though) and maybe one or two that are plain...
Halp. Cheap is also good. Etsy, west elm, ikea, Walmart, target are pretty much my options.
The window will be painted white, it's not quite done yet...
Our interior doors are almost black - Benjamin moore wrought iron. I love it! It's not for everyone but it's for me! It also hides diet great with two sticky-fingered kids! My white doors were always fingerprinty and smeared with stuff. These ones are too I guess, but it's invisible until I have time to wash doors!
I don't read her very often anymore but I read her new post today about the trash can. First of all, that is weird in itself. Joking about Kennedy getting shot? Uh.... So wrong. I was cringing through the entire post - it was not good. Fake, forced and really tasteless jokes ( which I know isn't new for her but I keep hoping she will stop it)
Sigh. I remember when her blog was lime green and she posted about her husbands boss coming for dinner and how she dressed the table. I miss that old blog even if it only had a handful of readers.
So... Vagina decor exchange for those of us who are laid back and a fancy ornament exchange for all the ladies who roll their eyes? Naughty list and nice list?
Are we doing secret Santa this year? I think it would be fun to do it home and garden themed - small decor items or home stuff? Ornaments are fun too but I can see a home decor one being a lot of fun and so much potential for good joke gifts too!
Two coats is fine. Is this a kitchen table? If so, you should coat the top with some sort of sealant as just paint is not going to cut it for the high use a table top sees. I use a wipe on poly that is non yellowing and I apply many many coats with a light sand with a fine sandpaper
Leave them! They are beautiful as they are please don't spray paint them! Everything doesn't have to be matchy matchy in a room; It's ok if they don't match the hardware on other pieces in the room.
I volunteered to make lunch for a band that is performing at our church this week. I was thinking beef stew and buns/cornbread but I am debating if just a basic make your own sandwich station with some fruit and chips would be better?
Dairy, what do you feed a bunch of hungry men that goes over well? It had to be easy enough I can prepare it while also taking care of 8 children at the same time
