DD can do a 6-piece wooden puzzle by herself. She also is able to identify red, blue, and yellow, as well as the letter O (she shouts "O!" whenever she sees one in writing).
DD is wearing this sweater dress (brand is Willow Blossom). I love the Hanna Andersson holiday sweater dresses, but couldn't stomach the price, so I bought this one NWT from eBay for about 1/3 of the price of a HA dress. It's really soft and warm and she looks adorable in it!
We have All-Clad stainless steel and they are great. Ditto the recs for a cast iron skillet (Lodge is a good brand and really affordable). Also, my Le Creuset dutch oven gets a ton of use in the winter months for stews, soups, braised meats, etc. It's probably my favorite kitchen piece overall.
DD is 16 months. It was fairly cold (upper 30s) last night, but we bundled up and went to 4 of our favorite neighbors. It was less about the candy and more about socializing, plus everyone (especially the elderly couple) was delighted to see her.
We only had 4 groups of ToTers tonight, which might be a new record low. DD was darling in her kitty costume and meowed on command for all the neighbors. I have eaten way too many KitKats and Reese's PB cups.
It's sunny but quite chilly in the upper 30s. We are just going to a few neighbors' houses, so we'll only be out for 15-20 minutes, but DD will still be bundled up.
kershnic - do you remember ToTing in the 1991 Halloween blizzard? That was legendary.
I've complained a few times on here about our neighbor's chickens, specifically the rooster who crows all the damn time. Well, last week a fox got into their backyard and killed the rooster! I am not at all sorry or sad about this.
We always have soup or stew to warm up before ToTing. I'm making pasta fagioli and garlic bread tomorrow night (and hoping that it won't be totally freezing outside).
DH's cousin has 12 kids ranging in age from 4-19. She is a little kooky and is obsessed with being pregnant, which is mainly why she kept popping them out one after the other. After the last kid, her doctor had to do a hysterectomy because she was so messed up from having that many kids. FIL jokingly refers to her family as "the litter."
DD would only eat green beans for dinner tonight. Normally she devours the protein and carb options and we have to bribe her to taste veggies, but she was absolutely obsessed tonight. Who is this kid?
Special snowflake - we don't have names on any of our stockings. They are homemade (by my mom) and are all quite different with fabrics and trim, so it's not hard to tell them apart; also growing up my family never had stockings with names on them, so that's just the norm for us.
Well, we've got out first urgent care visit and ear infection in the books. DD was a hot freaking mess yesterday and we finally decided to go into UC after dinner. She seems so much better this morning after just two doses of amoxicillin.
