I used our service (Virtuwell) a few weeks ago when I thought I had a UTI. After taking the antibiotics, it still didn't clear up, so I went to see my regular doctor and it turned out not to be a UTI. My doctor said that if you need to have lab work done, it's just best to go into see someone so it can be diagnosed correctly the first time.
I thought the online service was great; very quick and easy to use and I'll definitely try it again sometime.
DD loved the anywhere chair, play kitchen, Duplos, and the Melissa & Doug "band in a box" set; also the Daniel Tiger book in her stocking was a surprise hit
DH scored mega points with his gifts to me this year, including a Kate Spade purse
The highlight was probably having an impromptu jam session with DH, DD, and my parents and brother, with all of us playing the instruments from the M&D band set while singing Christmas songs. DD was in heaven and played the triangle like a boss!
He's in the kitchen making twice-baked potatoes while I am lounging around in my pjs. Also, he surprised me with a gorgeous Kate Spade bag (one that I actually would have picked out myself) for Christmas this morning.
Just got home from walking around a local lake and playing on the playground with DD. I am feeling so mixed about having a "brown" Christmas; love that the weather is mild and we don't have to worry about bad weather, but it just doesn't feel like Christmas without snow.
I'm in the kitchen making brunch and DH is in the family room playing with DD. All of a sudden, he yells "holy cow, did you know Daniel Tiger is on TV?!?"
Lol. Yes, dear, I'm well aware of the magic of DT at 9:00 am (aka time to drink my coffee in peace while DD is entertained).
Thanks Stingyshark! I had been looking at these for a few weeks but just couldn't pull the trigger with all the shipping and extra fees. Just got the gray mini dot with white piping for DD.
Also, FYI for others: my PBK store let me do a pay-hold over the phone, in case I wasn't able to make it out to the store tonight, I still got the $30 off deal.
I am a very light sleeper and hate being touched when I sleep. Adding a baby to our bed only sounds like a recipe for disaster. We all sleep so much better in our own spaces; why fix what isn't broken?
I need help finding a gift for our niece; she's really into art and crafty stuff. The Rainbow Loom seems cool, but it says 8+ years on the package; is that really true? Other ideas?
She started blowing on the jacket and I said, "please don't put your mouth on my daughter." She stopped (after blowing 2-3 times) and then gave me a huffy look and walked away. What a complete loon.
I'm now washing the old lady lipstick off the jacket. Barf.
We ran to the store to pick up a few things this morning. DD was sitting in the cart with her Snozu jacket on, unzipped. An older woman came up to us and said how cute DD was, then made a comment about her jacket not being warm enough. I said, "oh that jacket is filled with down, it's plenty warm." She said, "well, back in my day, this is how we could tell if a jacket is warm enough," stuck her hand inside and then proceeded to PUT HER MOUTH ON THE JACKET AND BLEW ON IT SEVERAL TIMES! The verdict: since she could feel her breath through the jacket, my kid must be freezing.
What the actual fuck.
1. When did it become okay for complete strangers to put their mouths on kids? Disgusting. I was feeling so lucky that we haven't had any weird stranger encounters up to this point, but this is really takes the cake.
2. Enough with the comments about kids and cold weather attire. We live in Minnesota and it's 20* with a fresh coat of snow outside - a down jacket (plus hat and mittens) is a completely appropriate clothing choice for this weather.
