Oh my goodness. That sounds terrifying and exhausting. I'm sorry. When does this start!?!? Linus talks up a storm a LOT and has a great vocab already, but he also has a lot of quiet down time. I'll be doing dishes and get that panicked feeling when I realize it's totally quiet in the other room and peek in and they're both sitting there together reading books. I thought they got my shy introvertedness. Am I doomed??? how long do I have to prepare?

The moment finally came. I was changing Fiona today and have just switched to changing her on the floor. Linus walked over and looked at me SO confused and asked "where's penis?". I had to try soooo hard not to laugh because he just looked so incredibly confused. They take baths together, but she sits in a bath ring still. I explained that Fiona is a girl and that girls have vaginas, not penises. He looked at me and matter of factly says "ohhhh, Fiona 'gina-penis" and walked away. Later when I changed her he walked over and said Fiona has gina-penis. So apparently that's what girls have. Kids are fun.

I guess it could apply to babies from this month too. Fiona's hardly talking so it's hard for me to imagine! But with DS we've discouraged words like oh gosh, darn, god, etc. We say "oh goodness" or "oh man" and boy was that hard to retrain myself to do. But he, like every other toddler on earth, is a damn sponge and I feel like everything leads to the occasional cuss word he's heard. MIL and FIL haven't said anything specifically, but I can tell they think we're being too strict. They're over here a LOT helping us get our house ready to sell and MIL will NOT stop saying "oh darn" and "oh crap". DS says oh darn constantly when she's here and when she leaves. She always corrects herself when she says it, but the damage is done with a toddler. I don't know. Darn isn't a bad word, but it just sounds... meh I guess to hear a 2 year old walking around saying oh darn, oh damn (which he always bridges the gap to once he starts saying darn), oh gosh, oh god. We weren't allowed to say those growing up, so maybe that's just the way I was raised. We're not religious, but I just think there are other words to use more 2 year old appropriate. I mean, it's not like a huge OMG what am I going to do ordeal, but I'm just curious what other probies do/say at 2 years old. Am I being a prude?

To me they're celebrities. I don't really care about any celebrity babies, theirs included. I mean, don't get me wrong- I wish the best for mom and baby like I would anyone, I just don't care about their personal lives because I don't know them.

I would do shorts if he gets hot easily. Even with an indoor reception that's still quite a bit of outdoor time. It sounds a little more casual near the beach? Or no? Plus, around here little kids/babies aren't really expected to be following "dress code" really. I love the bow tie and suspenders. But if I couldn't find trouser shorts I would probably go with a khaki/navy pair or something just not cargo like if that makes sense? I know I've seen a lot of linen and poplin that would be cool.

That's still a great beta! Sending you doubling vibes. I am queen of low early betas and have 2 1/2 babies to show it doesn't always matter. Plus, you don't really know what dpo you are anyway right?

I've never in my life heard anyone call marinara sauce gravy. This is seriously the first (bizarre!) time I've heard that. You have brown gravy or white gravy- a la biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy, turkey and gravy, etc.

I love my city mini double. I probably would have gotten the city select if I could have afforded it, but alas I could not. I've not had any problems with mine though. It folds up small in my little car without taking anything apart.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I am SO sxcited! I am so happy that this is the first post I saw when I got on today!!! That is not a faint line lady, those are both positive plain as day. Your friend has no idea what faint tests look like lol. PLUS the FRER was with non-FMU which is awesome. It took me a long time to get a + that dark with just held pee. I have no idea how far along I was with tests like those, maybe 12-13ish dpo? Good luck and squeee!!!!!!
In a boat of wondering when the damn things will just die...Sometimes I get excited when the oldest one is really still, just to find out he's just sleeping. In my defense, they're not my dogs to begin with and having 3 extra golden retrievers in the house is a lot of work.

Are any really that different aside from which character or whether they have a character? Wrist vs backpack?
I figure if the only thing I can do is harness my kid to actually leave the house for now then so be it. I'm honestly nervous about it. I am soooo self-conscious, like unhealthily so, honestly. I get nervous even thinking about the possible judgey looks. I feel like it will be payback for before I had kids, especially 2+, and did.not.get.it. and totally judged them. It just takes me 45 minutes- an hour to get anywhere so it's hard to really have another backup plan other than harnessing him if he gets unruly. I guess at this point I'm feeling like a harness is a better option than sitting at home every day. :/
I'm sorry that no one has been able to help and I'm no different. Madison is still in 6-12 Robeez despite being 26 pounds. She has tiny feet.
Thanks! The perils of chunky feet I suppose. I have her robeez stretching over pop cans and various other homemade stretching devices lol. Her ankles (cough::cankles::cough) have actually slimmed down some. I just really like really flexible shoes and don't know what else to get her. I usually use see kai run and they're awesome, but I was just trying to find something else that might be a LITTLE cheaper. Tried a pair of pediped yesterday and too tight on her feet. :/
Sorry. I really think that if it were reversed and Fiona was the older one we'd be fine. Linus is just turning into a little crazy man lately. I feel like I'll hopefully get these 2 under control and then go through it again... The crazy woman wearing a newborn with 2 leashed kids dragging her around.
Yeah we go out everywhere, parks, mall, indoor play places, shopping, etc. I *drill* it into Jameson that he can't go far away from me, or we leave. He gets one warning if he wanders off somewhere I don't want him to be and then if he does it again we leave right away. He gets a thorough description on the way to the car and on the way home of why we left. Then the next time we go to the same place I tell him at the beginning that if he goes away then we will leave like we did last time and fun will be over. It's all about being very firm and sticking with it and having a few miserable and short lived encounters in the mean time. When I take him out of the car I always point to a spot on the side of the car and tell him to touch that spot and don't move while I take Anna out, or again we will leave and not get to have any fun. He is very diligent about leaving his little finger on that spot until I grab his hand to take them across the parking lot. Anna sticks close to me for now, but I pretty much don't have to worry about Jameson anymore. For places like the zoo I wouldn't have any problem with one of those wrist leashes if I had a wanderer. You could warn him that if he does that you will constrain him, and then follow through with it right away.
Thanks. I guess I can just start little with letting him walk with me at the grocery store instead of riding in the stroller or cart. Staying by the car has (so far) worked pretty well. I set the diaper bag on the ground next to me and give him the handle to hold. But it's like once we're out and there's stuff everywhere he just turns deaf.
Wellll I just kinda go with it. If Hazel gets bored I move Owen with her. He likes to follow her. We don't go to enclosed places often, but if they must get out and the weather is nasty we go to the Chick Fil A and play. Super classy lol. Do you have a mall near you? ETA Spelling. My brain is gone
Thanks. No mall near us. I think part of the problem is that we live in the boonies so it's pretty much 45 minutes to get anywhere. So I can't just do a quick trip to try something out other than grocery store, fast food, or big parks. We're trying to finish getting our house ready to sell so maybe that will get better and help the situation.
Glad I'm not the only one. I was seriously beginning to feel like it. Your mom watches the kids doesn't she? Does she take them out? I'm starting to feel like I'm failing as "daycare" by not doing enough.

My only problem with little cars is logistics! Are you the other one with a Focus? I thought I remember you talking about a focus. We are totally getting a minivan, but it's because I can't STAND getting both into their carseats and getting soaked in the rain/snow while doing it, and no other storage. Even with the two kids taking up the whole back it's hard to go out for the day with trunk space! Anyhow, how do you literally get all 3 kids in? The bucket would have to be on the outside right? I don't see how it could be between the other two because with a smaller car it would be so hard to navigate around all of the other seats.
