That's awesome!! Linus has decided it's cool to use the potty, but uses it irregularly- pretty much if he runs past it and remembers its there. I'm not in a hurry though right now. Fiona has also decided that the whole routine is super fun. When I start getting Linus' shorts and diaper off she runs over and pulls on her clothes and tries to sit on the potty when he's done. I've put her on there do she can have a turn an she just smiles and smiles but doesn't do anything.
fusion, I thought of you since I remembered you talking about going out with your kids and I was in awe. HOW DO YOU DO IT?!?!? I mean, I take my kids to the store, quick restaurants/cafes, and drs and some other places, but it's only places where they are fully contained or can be. Linus has his hand holding thing and in general he knows that he holds it or gets back in the cart, but that only lasts so long lately until he just doesn't care. He just has nooooo sense of needing to stay near me anymore. I think of when DH and I go to the zoo together and nearly have a panic attack thinking about doing something like that alone. Like, I seriously don't understand the logistics of how I'm supposed to do anything with my kids. I'm starting to get super depressed about it honestly because I'm feeling like a shitty mother that shelters my kids. Now when I figure this out I'll have a 3rd to add to the mix and I'm getting even more bummed, feeling like I'm ruining my kids' childhoods. I want them to have fun and I love that they have siblings, but I'm thinking of all of the fun things l could be doing with one kid or 2 spaced out more and feeling sad and guilty for thinking that. Kind of a "wth have I gotten myself into?!?" all around and I'm freaking out. I've looked and can't even find an enclosed park or enclosed play area. Short of leashing one of them I don't feel like I know how to handle it.
Aww, I'm so sorry. If you're not made up I would definitely tell him to make other plans. There's no point in ruining everyone's day when you could enjoy it with your sister!
When I ovulate I get ewcm right before/during ovulation and pretty much have mostly wet, but sometimes ewcm during the 2ww. With most of my pgs it's seemed that there was more ewcm during that time...
biblionerd the people in my area on craigslist must thing their clothes are God's gift to the world because I rarely find good deals. I'm also soooooo picky! I can't buy lots of boy clothes because I hate characters and sayings. Maybe I need to tone down the caring.
I guess that's good ol' Indiana for you! A lot are CRAZY though. Like I was looking for maternity clothes since I refuse to spend $40 on a shirt, but I also refuse to spend $10 on a used maternity shirt! You can find a lot of used Carters, osh kosh, target, kohls, etc., but a LOT of people think that gymboree is absolute gold around here and sell it way too high. So it's usually not super fancy stuff, just basics. That one lot I found was awesome though! Had some cheapo stuff, but a lot of gymbo, baby gap, etc.

and I've bought clothes in an emergency, put them on in the dressing room, and took the tags to the cashier. I walked out of the dressing room like a crazy person, practically holding the tags straight out in front of me so it was obvious lol. As an adult, I wouldn't eat food just because. But I would do it in an emergency for the kiddos. Rarely do I leave without a bag full of snacks though.

Produce by the lb- yes it's stealing. Prepackaged stuff, no. I'm not a law enforcement person, but I've always thought it was only stealing once you leave the store? So if you forget to pay for it once eaten and leave then you've stolen it. I've worked retail and our LP always stopped people as they were leaving the store to prove theft, not just stopping some random person in the store.

Oh yes, and I feel like I spend the same or more on DS, but he has less. Used boy's clothes are MUCH harder for me to find. Plus, I'm pickier on what he wears.

I voted $100-$500. It's hard to calculate. We got no hand me downs, but I am a penny pincher. I garage sale and craigslist. It's hard for me to even shop consignment sales or stores because it's too expensive. For instance, I think I spent $115 on a HUGE lot of 18-24 clothes from craigslist that was over 100 items. It included tons of shoes and winter coats that weren't my style so sold them and bought even more stuff with that money. I swap a lot so the only cost is shipping. Got her xmas outfit from gymbo nwt that way. All of her shoes but one pair have been NIB swapping. PJs or basics never seem to last long and I'll usually buy them from kohls when they're on sale plus have 30% off plus free shipping plus getting kohls cash back. Then I just spend that free $20 or so on more clothes. I just PERSONALLY have a hard time justifying paying $5 for a pair of shorts/pants when I can get them (often like new) from a garage sale for $.25-$.50. LOVE gymboree sales too.

I'm 4'11 and dh is 6'2" so our kids are a crapshoot lol. Ds has always been 98-99th percentile in height. Dd started at 80 some I think and had dropped to 50th at her 12m. I'm dying to see what she is at her 15 because I don't feel like she's grown!! I have a feeling she's going to end up a shortie.
Post by biblionerd on Jul 16, 2013 12:23:29 GMT -5
Linus has always been skinny so we haven't had too much of a length problem. He just went to 24m shorts recently! (3-4t shirts though lol). But I've found that jumping beans shorts tend to be on the shorter side.
Edie also wants her room PINK and I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around a pink room. I hate pink. But I want her to be happy. So we'll do pink.
So any suggestions there would be appriciated. THE CARPET IS BLACK.
i hate pink so it would be hard for me too. Especially with the blk carpet I would probably do the pink white grey and black and kind if vintagey. Like a black and white damask as the bedding or main fabric.

Random question... but does anyone have a pair of robeez 12-18 and 18-24? I have a pr of 18-24 on her and they're too big but the elastic barely fits her. The 12-18 would fit her better, but I'm assuming the ankle elastic is smaller? I'm just hoping someone has one of each they can compare!

Ours would tell me to come but just skip shots and come back later go those. You can do a drop in nurse appt for shots without an appt when you need to catch up. . I mean if they have a fever I don't usually mind them being looked at just in case anyway!
Well, our go-to was drinking. Sooooo... we've had sex once since conceiving this one. It was absolutely horrible. Like, the first time ever I was literally just staring at the ceiling wishing he would just get the fuck off of me. That bad. The next day he told me to please never have sex with him again unless I was in the mood. So we haven't had sex since. So I guess I'm no help.

I guess we don't do "arts and crafts" necessarily yet, but Linus loves to color and paint, so we usually do something with crayons, markers, chalk, paint on different surfaces, play doh, etc. DD doesn't get into most of them yet, but will scribble a lot of times. I mean, I keep some of them, but nothing fancy. Like, it's "whoa! Look, we took apart your cereal box today, let's color on it". Yes, this is what I'm doing with my art history degree...

Yes. I LOVE rompers. BUT, her skin is super sensitive to grass so she has to usually wear pants outside. So I find myself avoiding them or putting one back because I know I'll just have to change her into long pants when we go out.
Post by biblionerd on Jul 15, 2013 17:39:07 GMT -5
Fiona's short, but must have a long torso. She's in 12m pants mostly but some 18m pants, but won't be in 18m rompers and onesies for much longer. The torso is just getting rapidly shorter!! 18m shirts are definitely still fine.
Yeah, I had hardly any cramps the 1st pg, just the "oh no AF is about to start" and then the first few weeks. The second pg was waaaay crampier, but not this bad. I was kind of hoping they weren't going to get worse with each pg!!! Then again I'm already as huge as a house (ok, not really, but definitely don't look 12 weeks pg!) so I figured it was just things moving quicker or something. Plus, 2 c/s already, so who knows what's causing it.
I'm scared for #3 then because these hurt. And, yeah, I know how you feel. I'm the same size now as I was at 20 weeks with Lincoln.
The cramps actually went away for a couple of weeks, the diarrhea continued a bit longer. Now the diarrhea is gone and the cramps are back. :/ I'm being hopeful though that the cramps are temporary since it's so hot and I've been outside a lot so maybe I've been more dehydrated than usual. I just want that 2nd tri normal feeling!!!!
Ugh I'm sorry! The cramps are so awful. I'm only a week away from 2nd tri so maybe mine will magically disappear! My dr said the uterus grows at a faster rate with subsequent pregnancies, (especially if they're close) making them even more painful. I hate them.

biblionerd I was going to ask how the cramps have been for you.

This is when I feel kind of spoiled for having 2 so close. They LOVE playing with each other. Well, today Linus would build giant block towers and fiona would scream and knock them down. I think she had more fun with him than he did...
coloring, crafts, painting play-doh more tv than usual build a fort Linus likes scavenger hunts and Fiona likes following him around (take pics of normal stuff around the room on my phone and show him and he'll find it) chase and hide and seek are huge they love just playing cheesy kid's cds and dancing play with the hundred million toys we have. I rotate toys when they're getting bored or are inside more than usual

don't judge my times, we're a late family...
10:30ish wake up 11 (usually takes 1/2 hr to get both up and dressed)- breakfast hang out inside- all the normal stuff- craft, coloring, blocks, games, reading, etc. 1 or 1:30ish or so- go outside. Sometimes just a walk to get the mail and water the flowers, or get in the pool or play with the water table 2:00- lunch 3:00-6:00- nap snack 8:00- I feed the horses, dh takes them outside to play or for another walk 8:30- dinner 10- snack and get ready for bed
Gisa I also have a question for you missy! Where is your name post over here??? ya, I saw you on baby name board!! I liked the suggestion of Violet Allison for you I'm not sure Eric goes with Hazel and Owen BUT sentimental value could outweigh that.. I forget if you said why you liked Eric.
biblionerd so does that mean you are or are not going to be team green this time? and what names are YOU considering?
sorry to hijack the thread
Ha, no I am a giant team green failure. I had the harmony genetic test so we should know in 10 days or so. Our boy name front runner right now is Felix. I got DH to agree to it today!!! Our girl name leader is Ruby Eloise, but it's not set in stone.

@pcloadletter . Did I miss it? How did everyone take the news?? I saw in a post below you said something about everyone in your life thinks it's a girl. About that- Do you think you feel like it's a girl because you just had a boy last? I feel like this one is 100% a boy, but am wondering if it's because I had a boy and then a girl and feel like I should be alternating again lol. I know because I'm soooo sure it's a boy it's going to be a girl though just to prove me wrong. That would be a girl thing to do... This is why I am a complete team green failure. I don't have a preference at all, but I have such a strong feeling it's a boy and can just picture it, that I think I would seriously feel lost on birth day to find out I was wrong. Like, not that I CARE which one, but that since this is our last I will NEVER have a girl/boy after this one, if that makes sense. Anyhow, rambling...
