Are you open to bone conduction technology instead? Aftershokz Air have a built in mic and don’t sit in it or over your ears. I use mine primarily for fitness but really like them
I'm trying to limit how much news I read about it. It makes me anxious.
I'm trying to focus on long term goals. I want to run a marathon in January. I moped around about this crisis plus my job for the majority of March and lost sight of that goal. I'm trying to get back on track with my schedule but allowing myself grace for rough days.
I'm trying to re-frame my thinking. So much has been out of my control the last several months (I spent the month of January sobbing in my car each morning before walking into my school each day!) and this feels like the icing on the really crappy cake, so I'm trying to tell myself that I am not stuck in quarantine. I am safe at home. I am healthy. I have the resources and support I need.
But mostly, I'm just giving myself permission to just get by. Sometimes I straighten my hair and put on makeup and fake my way through cheery videos for my students so they can have that sense of calm and normalcy, and sometimes I drink way too much soda and eat my way through a family size pack of Oreoes while watching exercise videos in a stained t-shirt at 2am because I can't sleep. I'm just trying to balance that fine line between self care and self destruction.
A stack of Amazon packages arrived at my door filled with amazing books to share with my students, most without names. THANK YOU. That's not sufficient but thank you so very much. I'm excited to share them with students and add them to the collection to be checked out when we return. <3
Yes I suggest this as well. I would also inquire with scholastic about options for replacing book fair revenue. Maybe a back to school option is available.
Can you do ebooks to read?
I have in a pinch but the copyright is a little more sticky there so I hesitate to make it my go-to.
I'm struggling. My job in the library was already at stake because of funding, and we needed to pass a levy in order for my job to be secure. In person voting was cancelled and is now absentee only through the end of April. It breaks my heart to think that I already had my last day with students, potentially forever.
I brought home a crate of books for virtual read alouds, but I've blown through them. I'll likely resort to buying additional books online and donating them to the library... which stings when I consider that I may not have any income in a few weeks. :\ Our book fair was also cancelled as a result of this, so even if I do by some miracle get to keep my job, I'll not have anything to work with budget-wise next year.
So, yeah, having a really difficult time processing it all but doing my best to fake it for the sake of the kids. I guess the silver lining is that I get to use the bathroom whenever I want and I don't have any duty throughout the day?
Would you consider making an Amazon wishlist of read aloud books you need? I would be happy to buy one or two for you!

Ohio- we're getting paid as long as we work. We're teaching remotely. Support staff has training sessions they can do since they do not teach remotely. This allows them to still work and be paid.

Pop if it's a standard room. The rooms are refurbished and pretty nice.
I thought the LM room I stayed in at AOA was a dump* when I was there recently.
They're pretty similar in terms of amenities. Both are equal distance to skyliner and food courts are relatively the same.
*By Disney standards. Super worn and outdated. Definitely not worth the price I paid but Pop was sold out. I'd upgrade to a moderate before staying in a standard room at AOA again.

Friday: OTF Saturday: Rest Sunday: OTF.
This was the first week of my spring training plan. Of course, our winter has been relatively mild up until the time when I need to start running outdoors, and then the cold rainy snowy crap finally shows up.
Also thinking about a Garmin but daaaaang... so many choices! I have an Apple Watch and love it for everything, but it has some quirks that make running with it somewhat annoying. I think the Forerunner 245 music is going to be what I go for.
We took the kid at 18 months for a business trip and planned to go back to the hotel for naps. He absolutely refused to nap in the hotel day two once he realized we were going back. I gave up on making that work and he'd doze in the stroller.
That trip was laid back for us. Rode a few rides, met some characters he did know, kept it pretty low key and not scheduled.
It Cosmetics Superhero is my go-to, but a little translucent powder on your undereye can help prevent raccoon eyes if you don't want to ditch your favorite mascara.
This one is on my wish list. It gets great reviews and I think there’s a bigger version too. It’s on sale for $80 on Amazon. Check to see what the price is on ebags too. eBags TLS Mother Lode Weekender Junior 19" Carry-On Travel Backpack - Fits Up to 17.5" Laptop - (Heathered Graphite) www.amazon.com/dp/B01AKIMHF2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fYekEbYSEA1XQ
This is what I was going to recommend. I have had mine for years. It's really great. It holds lots of stuff, is easy to access, and is relatively comfortable. It has also held up well through lots of travel.
This is what I have. I like that it opens suitcase style. I use Dot & Dot slim packing cubes in it and can cram in a ton.
Who Wet My Pants is new and very funny. So is The VERY Impatient Caterpillar.
Yes yes yes to Who Wet My Pants. Anything by Bob Shea is fabulous. Harold and Hog Pretend For Real by Dan Santat. It's a parody of Elephant and Piggie Truman is adorable and fun. Llama Destroys the World would be fun for second. I can't keep it on the shelves.

Friday: Rest Saturday: OTF class Sunday: 4 miles on a more hilly route. I do Galloway run/walk intervals and bumped myself to 4/1 from 3/1 to try it out. Felt decent.
As far as 2020 goals...maybe I'm on track? I'm aiming to PR my half marathon time by 14 minutes. Based on my half in November, I think it'll be doable, but I haven't started officially training yet. Just getting back into a groove/base right now aftergiving myself permission the last few weeks to only run if I felt like it.
I really like the location of the Epcot resorts. We've stayed at Swan/Dolphin several times and I've never been disappointed. Another upside to the Epcot area resorts is that you can easily walk to HS before opening if you plan to rope drop Star Wars attractions.
Beach Club/Yacht Club are $$$ but the pool is amazing. It was a splurge for us but totally worth it.
I wasn't a fan of Coronado pre-renovation, but loved it afterward and would stay there again.
I have mixed feelings about Port Orleans Riverside. Love the theme of the royal rooms and the overall grounds. Not as much of a fan of the standard rooms.
Pop is a value and the rooms are on the small side, but it's my go-to for race weekends and quick trips. I ended up in a LM room at AOA and was waaaaay disappointed with the space, especially for the cost. Super worn/outdated.
Wilderness Lodge is another favorite. It's a MK resort but not on the monorail, so it's a little more affordable. It just had a more low key, intimate feel than some other larger resorts.
We typically save the deluxe resorts for longer trips because we naturally build in more pool/down time. For the short trips, we'll go with Pop or a moderate if we can catch a good sale because we know our time will be spent in the parks.
Thanks! This is super helpful. We will get there around check-in time on Saturday, have a full pool day on Sunday, do MK on Monday, and fly out late afternoon Tuesday. Knowing this, would you consider Beach Club? It's about $700 more than Port Orleans French Quarter.
Also, for those in the know, I think check out is around 11am, right? Our flight may not be until 5pm. Can we utilize the pool area later than check out and change in a bathroom/locker room before our flight?
ETA: we can also do Swan for about $200 more than POFQ, once you add in airport transfers and resort daily fee.
You can use the pool until midnight the day you checkout. Pack a small bag with stuff to change into and then have bell services hold your bags (or do curbside check-in if your airline supports it).
I personally would do Swan over POFQ, but ropedropping HS for Star Wars is a huge priority for us. Not having to rely on a bus to get us there is a plus. The pool there is also fun, and there's mini-golf right out front.
We rearranged our plans to spend more time at the pool at Beach Club. My son still talks about it, and that trip was 4 years ago. As far as he's concerned, that was the peak WDW experience. The only thing I didn't like about it was having to leave the gated area to access the slide. You have younger kids, so that may be a consideration.

On our last few trips, cast members have commented on our history and we've gotten upgrades/early check-in/both. I have no idea if it's coincidence or just pixie dust/luck.
No mileage for me. I used way too many different methods of tracking in an attempt to find an app that worked best for me.
My 2019 goal was to return to running and complete the Wine and Dine 10k/half marathon challenge in November. I did it, and even PR'd the 10k portion of it, beating a PR I set in 2015.
The last time I ran a half or 10k was 2016. I could count on one hand the number of times I ran in 2017 and 2018 combined.

I'm sitting on 4000 points and a 20% off coupon.I also feel like I'm in a rut and want to change things up. Suggestions for:
- Medium coverage foundation? My skin has changed from formerly oily to more normal/dry. I use Perricone No Foundation Foundation serum for every day or It Cosmetics CC cream, but I'd like a true medium coverage foundation.
-Primer? Large crater-like pores. I've used Benefit Porefessional for years, but wouldn't mind trying something new.
-Makeup brushes? I have a few RT face brushes and It for Ulta eye brushes I like, but wouldn't mind trying something new/better.
Anything else fun? I'm set on hair tools and skincare.
