I'm slightly north of Shelton. If you like antiques and cute little stores, downtown Seymour has a ton. It's a small downtown, like 2 blocks, but they have probably about 15 stores. There is also a really cute tea shop if you like that type of stuff. If you go down to Milford and like Italian, there is a restaurant called Andinis. I think it's technically in Orange, but it's not far from the Milford Mall. It looks like a complete hole in the wall, but their food is so good.
In New Haven, there's a place called Baracade. It's a bar with all old school arcade games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, etc. New Haven also has a lot to do.

I'm super annoyed with myself. Things have just been stressful in general but I learned today I messed up on my taxes. I have 2 kids and my ex claims one and I claim the other. I had both boys in turbo tax because their info has always been in there. For the oldest, I just click the box saying I have an agreement with the other parent that the other parent can claim him. I KNOW I did. I know I clicked that box. Somehow, he got moved from child tax credit to some new other dependent and I got $500 for him. I honestly didn't think too much of it because I figured it was a new thing and I clicked the box saying my ex was claiming him.
Well, my ex called me saying his return got flagged for claiming my oldest. I now have to amend my return and pay back the $500 so he can file his taxes. I'm so mad at myself for not checking out exactly what that $500 was for before I sent my forms in. It's not the worst thing in the world, and I didn't do it on purpose but I don't need extra stress right now. Every little thing is making me burst into tears lately.
This apparently is a new thing that happened last year. We can never use this option and always go with the one where we can select our seat. It for sure not intended for parents with small children. It really bugs the shit out of me. If AA wasn't our hub I wouldn't want to fly with them.
It’s not just AA. I’m currently booking flights to Switzerland and every single airline has us paying extra to choose our seats.
I just booked Jet Blue and I didn't have to pay to pick my seats. I only had to pay extra to pick the seats with the extra leg room. I am regretting letting my FI talk me out of those lol.
Look into your internet provider. With mine (Xfinity), they have an app you can download. I can control all the devices connected to my wifi and disconnect them at any time. I also have it set up where all my kid's devices are under their own profile with a set time that the wifi goes off.
I've used it. I'm a 32 DD according to it, and my boobs aren't that big at all. They are also fairly droopy because of age and breastfeeding 2 kids. Give whatever size you came up with a shot, I think you'll end up being really surprised. I know I was!
This is the measurement it gave me actually. Where do you buy bras? Target had one single 32 band bra in the entire section so I wasn’t able to try on a bunch like I wanted.
Soma has a good selection. Nordstorm. I can even find that size at Victoria's Secret although it is harder. I've never tried Target because I just assumed they wouldn't carry it.

I let my 12 year old run into the deli and order his sandwiches and pick up pizza when he was 11. But I could see him in both places. I don't think I'd be okay with him going into a bigger place like Target. Maybe 13?

All of mine do (12, 11, 8). The youngest actually uses it the most, although he is usually drawing or making crafts. I like that they have them as it gives them a space to do their homework or other things away from everyone else.
I always wrap on Christmas Eve. I often have to stay up until like 1am to finish it, but I still do it then. I should probably try to start earlier, but I know I won't lol.
I have a 12 year old (7th grade) and he does all this. I don't even wake him up in the morning. I don't think you are expecting too much at all, and I'm sorry your ex is being an ass. I know all about dealing with an abusive ex after the divorce. It's so hard not to let it get to you. Hugs. I think you're doing a great job.
My son takes this too, although the liquid. Have you had any problems getting it? I have to call like 10 pharmacies every time we need a refill. I know their main production was in Puerto Rico, so I'm assuming they are still having issues.
Not the chewable. When he was first prescribed it last December his doctor wrote it for the liquid but said to call him if I couldn't get it. I couldn't so he wrote it for the chewable. The first time it was a couple days but they said they have him in the system so they know to order it for him each month. We just changed doses and had another couple days wait but all the other times I've had no issues getting it.
Thanks! I'll ask his doctor about the chewable if I have an issue next month.
My son takes Quillivant which is available in chewable and liquid form. Hes taking the chewable, he says it tastes like fruit lol.

LOL I actually said to him that I thought everyone in the same stuff was a bit much (it was a pretty big group), so ITA with you on that!
And does the SIL have a different dad from your H? You said “her dad’s side of the family”. So I’m not sure why your FI was necessarily even there. This has nothing to do with your OP, I’m just being nosy now, lol.
Yes. Her dad is my FI's ex-step father. FI's mother and him were married for a while, and FI considers him like a father. They are still fairly close and all consider each other family, so that's why he was there. This is also a big reason why I didn't just show up, because I thought maybe they weren't doing SOs or didn't want me there since FI isn't blood related, but last time they had pics done, FI's ex was included. I realize this probably makes little sense. All sides of his family (his father's, his mother's, his ex-step father's) are huge and confusing.
But didn't your F literally say, "In my family if I'm invited, you're invited"? You were invited BY HIM and could easily have just worn something that coordinated with the kids. She sounds like she's going to be a handful as a SIL so my advice would be to just strut in like, "Of course I belong here." And if you were wearing the "wrong" color, that's all the better imo because you really don't want to spend the rest of your life coordinating colors for photos, do you? Next she'll be assigning you the vegan side dishes at Thanksgiving and worse.
LOL I actually said to him that I thought everyone in the same stuff was a bit much (it was a pretty big group), so ITA with you on that!
Also, I’m confused as to why, if your FI thought you were invited, he went without you? Did y’all not have a conversation about it? Or is your post about your past conversations?
Sorry, I guess I failed in making a coherent post! lol. He went without me because he knows I hate getting my picture taken, so he assumed I wouldn't want to go (and I mean, he's not really wrong).
I am so confused about all of this. Who is “his sister”? Who was doing the communicating here?
Andplusalso, why didn't FI tell you about it/invite you or relay to his sister/family that you and your kids were also coming?
It's my FI's sister, and she was doing all the communicating with him. He didn't ask me if I wanted to go because I absolutely hate getting my picture taken so he thought I wouldn't want to. He didn't realize I wasn't invited because he thinks that any invitation to him extends to me by default (he can also be a bit oblivious to things), but I disagree with him in this case.
My FI and future SS went and got family pictures taken with his sister and her dad's side of the family yesterday. I wasn't invited. I was sort of insulted, but then I found out that the last time they did them, his ex was in the pictures. His response to me was that, in his family, if he's invited, I am. I think this is just something he assumes. She asked him if we had all the boys this weekend (I have 2, he has 1). Once he said yes, she told him about the pictures and said "You and FSS". There was also a dress code. She was asking if FSS had stuff and there was a whole convo about it, but no mention about what the women were wearing or if my boys had clothes.
I mention the clothes, because that was my main point that I wasn't invited, because if so, why no mention about the dress code for the women? He didn't get it at first, but I think he does now. Am I wrong? To me, I totally wasn't invited.
I have a HDHP with a $10,000 family deductible. I don't mind it because I pay about $50/month for it and just dump what I save into a HSA.
IDK who you have, but my insurance has a tool on their website where you can get fairly accurate estimates on what a certain doctor will cost. Maybe you can check to see if you have access to something like that? I also noticed recently that my DocFind will give an estimate of an average visit based on the doctor. I would think most national carriers should have something similar to these.
Aww man. My mom wants an iPad, and I was hoping I could grab one online early with my red card. I'm not the type to go somewhere hours early to wait in line for something lol. Hopefully the deal will be online on Black Friday and not just in store.
We are having a shit ton of black Friday meetings next week. I will see what I can find out and report back.
Awesome, thanks! Target is usually the only store I Black Friday shop, so this would be really helpful!
So if something in the target Black Friday deals flyer is not a door buster does that mean I can order it online? And, what time would online stuff go on sale ?
Normally I don’t do any Black Friday shopping but I’m interested in the $199 Apple Watch deal
We have not heard all the specifics yet but the rumor is that no apple products will be available online early. They might go online at the same time the stores open but like I said, we haven't heard the official word yet.

I can't change who won the election but I can provide a forum for bitching about what's irritating you.
Mine is that for the third consecutive year, my kid is asking for something from Santa that isn't currently sold. From Voltron to Sonic to Lego products that don't exist, it makes me kick myself that he lives an on-demand/commercial free existence. This year it's TWO lego items that are retired - a general grievous build a guy thing that I had to buy from China and is taking three months to ship and a droideka, which often IS featured in sets but not now. Probably they'll come out with one in fucking January.
Same here! My son wants some ooshies transformers advent calendar that is only sold in Australia. I can buy it if I want to pay double because of shipping. So annoying!
I have the first Lego you mentioned. If yours doesn't come in, I'd be happy to go rooting through the 5 huge bins of Legos we have to find it and all the pieces.
I hate Florida. It’s like 2016 all over again. I’m trying to be happy for the overall win of the nation (for the house) but Florida is so fucked up the ass I am devastated. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for this state.
I’m also sad that the senate republicans have more seats now. Fucking America.
I know it sucks, but I'm really impressed that FL passed to restore voting rights to former convicted felons. I have a feeling that will make a difference in a couple years (hopefully).
I live in a small city in CT. No early voting in my state. My polling place was packed when I went after work at 4pm. Our race for senator went unsurprisingly blue (Chris Murphy is the best) but our governor race is close. I am nervous watching the results tonight.
Ditto. I'm happy we have Murphy. I just with we could have found someone more exciting than Lamont to nominate... I'm still hoping he wins.
Same. I saw on FB this morning that more than double the amount of votes in my small town went to the Rep nom than to Lamont. That was really disappointing. It was too close to call at that point, although I haven't checked the news since.
I just got back. For some reason, they had my old address that matched my license so that was a non-issue.
It was definitely more packed than 2 years ago, even though it's pouring and the middle of the afternoon. There were several women around my age there with kids which is a big change from 2 years ago. Hopefully they were all voting Dem!
