I’ve gotten 3 emails from them leading up to today’s Halloween Parade/party with instructions on where to stand for the parade, what to pack, etc.
I’m with you and mostly do drop offs, it’s hard to catch everything on the morning when you’re distracted by the kid and trying to get to work on time.
At my daycare they specify that no nut food items are allowed and none made in a nut facility. I think it's reasonable for them to do the same at any school sponsored event.
I just signed up to bring stuff to their class Halloween party next week and this was stated on the sign up sheet.
About a week ago, at almost 3. We found that our Extend2Fit was not working out great in the FF position (we liked it fine while RFing), so rather than keep fighting it I bought her a Chicco MyFit.
We were going to have to buy another seat eventually because Hobbes and #2 would eventually get to the point where they are both in convertibles, and if that day was going to come eventually I figured why fight with the E2F in the meantime.
How are you liking the MyFit? I’m thinking about going with that one after I read your other post about the frontier cover not being washable. We’ve been happy with our key fits and next fits
I usually size up in them. I got some for DD last fall when she was 3 in a size 4 and they were fine just a bit bunched up at the ankles. She's wearing them again this fall at almost 4 and they fit just fine, no issues with shrinking.
vtdiamond lives in one of those towns - I hope you guys are ok!
Were ok thanks for thinking of us! They’ve turned off the gas to our area and it sounds like power is out in town too. So scary and so many police and other emergency personnel in the area. We’re out for dinner now but will hopefully be able to go home tonight.
vtdiamond the interview was more of a discussion about their open roles. Turned out they want me for a role at my current level, and I don't want to leave a great gig without an advancement. I may continue with the interviews to use as leverage here, though, because they'd beat my pay by at least $5k and bonus by $8k for a role that is not as complex as my current one.
Thanks for the update. Yeah I wouldn't leave the great job you have right now for a lateral move. Good luck with the process, I hope it works out for you!
I had a gentle c/s and it was a great experience, and very similar to pinotgrig. Mine was a primary (scheduled) c/s though, not a repeat, due to my twins both being breach!
The hospital I delivered at was one of the pioneering hospitals for gentle c-sections and were very supportive. With the clear drape it was great to see both babies right away. They took both of them to be checked out by the awaiting pediatric team first then allowed me to do skin to skin while I was being stitched up.
Both the attending and resident anesthesiologists were great. I had the spinal placed while DH waited outside, then he came in once I was set up.
That's really strange. Our daycare puts soiled clothes in a tied up plastic bag and puts that bag in the kid's backpack. We have rarely lost things with this system. That system sounds like things must be getting lost/thrown away all the time!
When did your kid(s) start walking? DD is 11 months, and not even really crawling yet. She rolls and army crawls to get anywhere. She likes standing when we hold her. DS was running at this point, which I know is on the early side. I just am trying not to worry too much, but I thought she’d at least be really crawling by now.
This sounds like my DS, he was cruising around furniture at 11 months but was only army crawling. He and my DD both started walking at 14 months.
I vote new car seat. If it was a $300 carseat I'd keep trying to clean it, but yeah for $144 I'd get a new one! Hope the rest of your vacation improves!
vtdiamond , any luck with the potty training regression?
I honestly don't know what to do. DS1 just will not consistently use the toilet. Nothing works: sticker charts, praise, time out, making him clean it up, taking away toys, telling him he can't do certain things when he asks... I'm seriously at a loss and am so angry about it. I'm debating putting him back in diapers because I just cannot deal.
I left him naked all day today and he still had accidents!
DS did really well this week. After a lot of transition with teachers at daycare they now have a great permanent teacher in his class and she was on top of him this week with constant reminders. He had no accidents Tues-Thurs and just had one at nap time on Friday. He’s done pretty well this weekend too, so I’m hopeful he’s going to get over the regression soon.
I’m hoping for some ideas/help with an issue we are having with my son. DS is 3 (turning 4 in Nov), he’s been potty trained for almost a year. The last month he has had a major regression and is having accidents all the time. He will not even attempt to use the potty, just pees in his pants and doesn’t say anything, doesn’t seem to bother him being wet. Sometimes he will pee in the potty and he always poops in the potty. We’ve had him tested for a UTI which was negative, tried positive reinforcement/bribes, tried doing time outs for accidents, but nothing seems to be helping. He’s changed rooms at daycare around the same time, but this seems to happen at both daycare and at home.
We’re going to try going back to basics with potty training this weekend as he had a ton of accidents at school today. Basically he finally decided to start using the potty when they told him he couldn’t go to the multipurpose/playroom. We are beyond frustrated as he definitely knows what to do but just doesn’t give a crap anymore.
I have put a PNP inside a large suitcase before. Is that an option? If not, I'd probably buy the cheapest one they have at Target and offer to leave it for future guests.
I've done this before as well and it worked out great, I packed all the rest of the kid crap in there around it - diapers, wipes, clothes, etc.
We obviously never planned for twins, and it was crazy that we had them on the first go, but I love that our family is already complete! Life is tough at times, and very expensive, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. They’re so awesome.
I often wonder what it would be like only having a single pregnancy/baby...but I’ll never know, and that’s fine by me.
Ditto all of this
I always wanted to have 2 kids and ended up getting it via twins which I never expected. I do wonder what it would be like to have a single baby or really just a chance to go through the stages again with what I know now, but likely won't have any more kids.
When DS' eczema started to be more frequent, his pedi gave him an Rx for hydrocortisone, which worked like a charm. I'd call and ask his doc for that if possible. In fact, I think it's a bit odd that his doctor gave that diagnosis without offering a prescription for him...
Ditto this, the only thing that cleared up my DSs eczema was prescription strength hydrocortisone.
