Depends on the room. Living room is set at 66, kitchen at 68, master bedroom at 68, kids rooms at 68 during the night and 62 during the day, and who knows for the den and guest room. I had them set at 66 but my brilliant husband changed them because ONE day it was cold. We rarely use those rooms so it made no sense. Nor did setting the living room to 72 when he was cold for a split second because he was sitting by the windows and leaving in 5 minutes. Since it is in floor heating, it took FOREVER to cool down to a normal temperature. Sorry, rant over.
The six month closing wouldn't bother me as much as the contingency of them selling their house. We had an extended closing on both selling our old house and buying our new one. Check your state laws about earnest money though. Some states it is completely refundable whereas others it is not. You could get screwed by that. All in all though, it doesn't sound great so far.
Thank you, I will look into that. What is the point of fully refundable earnest money?!
I wondered that too. I believe when we sold our house in NC, it was $1,500 earnest money that was pretty much refundable. Here in CT, you don't pay earnest money until after the inspection and its 10% non-refundable. It is all crazy.
Other than that, mine is that my daughter seems to be having a good, cooperative day at school. She's been having some struggles lately so this is great news.

Looks like it will be a small crowd this year, might just be the four of us. It is a far cry from last year's group of 17. RockNVoll is still invited over, but the walk might be a little further this year. I ordered the main stuff but will make some sides and maybe another pie to go along with everything.
(heart)
You guys should just fly out here for a long weekend and do Friendsgiving with me at a restaurant

Very odd to have a joint baby anything. I thought from your title that it was a mother/father shower type thing, which is equally crazy. I would buy a small gift for C. In the best circumstance, she will appreciate another blanket or bottle or whatever. In the worst circumstance, she will have at least one gift to open. Either way, you look like the good guy.

I'm sad that our piano is worthless. I had a piano guy out to look at the baby grand piano the sellers left. It isn't worth fixing. There are so many things the sellers didn't take care of, but this one makes me sad instead of mad. It isn't a Steinway or anything, but why would you let a piano fall apart? There goes my hopes of getting back into playing and getting my kids lessons.

No suggestions, just empathy. I considered posting something similar earlier today. We just moved to a new town and my kids are in school all day (and husband works). So I'm home alone all day and need to find something productive to fill my day. Hugs.

Seriously, get your tonsils out! I know you don't want to hear it, but it was so worth it to me. I don't get nasty tonsils stone and I don't get sick nearly as much as I used to. And the whole bad breath thing is gone too. It is worth the temporary pain.

So my 12th anniversary is Sunday and I haven't gotten my husband a present yet. I thought about suggesting we pick out something together, but I just checked our credit card and he has already bought me a gift. So PLEASE give me quick gift ideas! I can get to a Saks and some posh stores, but I don't have a clue what to buy!
Going to a wedding today. DH will see all his old college friends and I will spend the day waiting impatiently for cake. Should A be good time for all!
The only good part of wedding and kid birthday parties are the alcohol and cake. F'ing cash bars and stupid non-alcoholic kids parties here ruin that.

Longchamp has a cleaner for these bags. I bought some because I have a light blue bag. They definitely do not recommend putting it in the washer because of the leather. You may be able to get away with a diluted mild soap and water solution. I wouldn't immerse the bag though.

Oooh, that looks like a good show, sfy. I have yet to watch Downton Abbey because I feel like I would get sucked in. But now the kids are at school 7 hours a day......... There goes any productivity I might have had.
It is absolutely gorgeous weather here. I forgot how much I missed summer and fall (well, any weather other than grey and rainy). It is definitely helping my mood despite being a bit lonely.
It is a bit interesting to see the different social culture around here. Very eye opening especially in light of the recent race discussions.
