I'm excited about this tour. I love vict and Daniel.
I love them too! It's kinda funny- she marries a middle class businessman/fitness trainer and the media doesn't bat an eye. A university grad with flight attendant/entrepreneur parents marries into the BRF? WHOA. And this doesn't even touch on the Meghan/Harry crap.
Didn't someone else marry an adult star or lingerie model and it was barely brought up? One of the northern European houses, IIRC.
Do they have a plan for how to deal with people on programs where they basically can't work so they have to use their loan money on living expenses? Like law students? I'm assuming other grad programs are similar.
I worked in law school, but couldn't more than 20-hrs/week and with my class schedule first year, it was really more like 5-10 hrs/week. So, my loan money went to rent, gas, groceries, etc. The other option was to go deeply in credit card debt.
Or you could just use your trust fund money or ask your parents to help with living expenses! duh.
They do not understand 99% of the population and I guarantee someone in the room brought up parental support.
If any of you happen to get the opportunity to buy tickets, since I'm like 154,000 in line.....I'll happily Paypal you immediately for 2 tickets on any of the dates after March 10, anywhere in the theater.
<3 <3 <3
I’ve got two rear orchestras in my cart for 165 each for ten more minutes....
If she doesn't take them.. But really, andreay82 - get in here!!

Eh, I can't get too behind the Pippa v. York sister thing since Eugenie was at her wedding. Maybe it was a thing before Kate married their cousin and they've patched things up?
Nikole Hannah-Jones also did a fantastic and heart-wrenching piece about school integration that was featured on an episode of This American Life. As I was reading this article, that episode immediately came to mind.
My personal experience with this is our neighborhood school which many white families have avoided because white kids are only 10% of the population. The majority is Hispanic, Asian and other minorities. I love our school and its diversity and become quite irritated when people disparage it.
I think I spent most of that episode saying fuck off to all those white parents. This is so angering!

I'm actually writing my final paper on some of the issues discussed in this. It's ridiculous how many white, privileged liberals get on the choice train because they think it's better for minorities. My professor is one of those people and is a loud voice in Denver's public policy on education. We got into it on multiple occasions because he just did not get that my upbringing in a poor, biracial family varied quite differently from his white, upper middle class view. I see the issues in my neighborhood elementary that I tutor in are the same that my elementary faced growing up, except there was no "choice" back in the day. So our neighbors fought for neighbors. We fought for our schools to be better. Now, if you don't feel like fighting and have the means, you leave.
There are some great studies out there about how graduation rates soar for minorities, especially black students, when they have at least ONE teacher that looks like them. ONE. And guess what also plays into that? Teacher pay. When you are a minority trying to better your situation and make more money, you're less likely to go into teaching because the pay isn't sufficient enough. Unfortunately, teaching is still seen as a white woman's job to supplement her privileged husband's career and the pay is kept at that level. And minority teachers are more likely to burn out if they do choose it as a profession. Experienced teachers are more likely to have an influence on a child's reading and math growth, so if we do get minorities to teach, they're less experienced than white teachers on average. It's a vicious cycle.

I think they did a good job with the subtle details that become big issues later on, like Margaret and Tony's relationship. They did similar in the first season with Uncle David and his nazi ties but brought it out in full this season.
Fuck Trump. He wants to play with bombs and he's using Jewish and Muslim lives as pawns.
I can't even begin to explain the RW evangelical thing for Israel when they don't give a single fuck about Jewish people in their own country. I mean, I know the reasoning that has been explained in this thread, but I don't think they really care about the religious aspect, so it must be about power and racism/Islamophobia.
They don't actually care about Jewish people- they are just pawns in the coming of Jesus, according to their beliefs. I do think they care about the religious aspect, but only their salvation, not what that means to those living in Israel. Of course, there is also racism/Islamophobia involved, but I would not discount the level of belief in RW evangelicals.
As a teen, I was very religious, and read alllll the Left Behind series. There were some themes in those books were very concerning and I remember being uncomfortable with a lot of it, though I still found it fascinating.
I went to one a few weeks ago. They started selling books at 7 when you bought your book you also got a wrist band for the signing, that started at 1. Some people got in line after they bought their book and these people had to wait outside till they let everyone in the store. I worked a half day, got to the signing around 12:30 or so, and they were still selling books when I got there. At this point we went through security and everyone waited in the store. You were limited to what you could actually bring into the store, so no laptops. When I got close to the actual signing they made us put everything in our pockets and we had to keep our hands out when we walked through security (again) and talked to her. I had to wait about 2 hours to actually get my books signed.

Oh good. I felt bad for Robin Wright that her character was getting more of a lead and it was abruptly canceled because of her dick coworker. She made the show, anyway.
I felt like it was going to be her turn as the lead anyway. I was hoping she was going to get more than one season.
Me too. I really only watched for her the last few seasons. It has been nice to see strong women on TV lately, and even though Claire isn't the most, uh.. moral? character, she was still at the forefront and taking the lead in a show that is now ending because of another man being a terrible POS.

Ugh. I may just work from the office then go get in line at the last minute. I hate standing in lines and I really can't take half a day waiting in line without my computer.
I thought it is going to be at the Colfax location?
oh crap.. then guess I'll work from my car nearby.. ugh. I wish I could just have my laptop with me and work in line.
The bookstore here sent out the same type of email. They said we could begin lining up at 7am! (I also just saw an email that they changed the time by 1 hour.) But they said that you just have to be checked in by the start time in order to guarantee getting your booked signed. In the same email they urge public transportation but then also tell us "Any personal items that cannot be pocketed will not be permitted in the event area, except SMALL purses or bags, phones and/or cameras. Please leave all bags, purses, backpacks, coats, memorabilia, and other personal belongings at home or in your car." No coats? In Denver in December?

I actually wasn't all the impressed with Savannah and Hoda. It seemed all about Matt, he's such a good guy, etc. I AM shocked at Megyn Kelly's response- I think she did it right and made it about the victims and women in general.
and KLG will always be on my list. She just seems like a terrible person all around.
Re: the dog, I read somewhere that the dog she left behind was staying with the person she adopted it with (an ex boyfriend who is a chef) so its not like she just ditched the dog with the people next door to her or something.
So, she's just splitting custody? lol. I'm sure when she's back in the US, she'll go see her dog.
