I'm starting to suspect that 2 of my favorite vices are complete deal-breakers for me... I previously cut out alcohol and pop almost entirely for about 3 years. Then, I slowly started back with them and have put on weight. My activity level and eating is more or less the same.
Liquid calories add up so quickly!
I don't drink Mon-Thurs and even just cutting down on those days has had an impact. (I'd previously have one or two beers or glasses of wine daily).
I need to go back to this! I've had so many weekday events/HH and I feel like a walking balloon

It could be that Meghan is more upset about it than the BRF. I couldn't imagine how I'd feel if I stuck my neck out for my dad and it came out that it was actually his fault.
Please excuse my ignorance regarding asthma induced by excercise but perhaps you could do shorter run intervals on the treadmill. I have had success with doing one minute running intervals followed by 1:30 walking. That with counting calories with MyFitnessPal has worked great for me.
I don’t do low carb but if I eat a carb, I make myself also eat a protein at the same time. It keeps me full and I don’t feel deprived.
I can't jog for 20 minutes straight, so when I say I go for a jog, it's basically intervals of a few minutes on and a min or two off.
That said, interval running is recommended for people with exercise-induced asthma.
I've always wondered if I have excercise-induced asthma but I love interval running, so it didn't make sense in my head. Now I'm really wondering if I do have it. If you like pilates, maybe incorporate free youtube videos like blogilates? She's a little annoying but I always feel the burn and there's not a ton of actual cardio. Doing more isometric exercise vs. the whole body that you get from CF may kick your body out of the rut it's in. I've also been using Apptiv, which is an app that tells you what to do but there's no video involved- it's like having a coach in your ear. I haven't tried their pilates workouts but like the lifting and HIIT ones.
My boys received small pewter piggy banks from my non religious aunt and uncle, and a very nice nativity set from my sister. So something like that would be fine. Also, cash.

Interesting! There is one around the corner from my house and it sounds like it is the better parts of OTF Is the lifting light and HIIT like OTF or is it slower?

It doesn't matter in my field but I work in campus recruiting and most of my referrals come from people that are referring someone from their prestigious school. The list of schools we consider "visiting" can also be heavily influenced by leadership, too.
The girls are so grown up. Amalia seems to take her role very seriously, too.
The family portrait looks like a TV promo!
The girls are absolutely gorgeous. If I could choose a royal family to be in, it'd be the Dutch or Swedish. They don't get the same scrutiny as other royal families and all seem very close.
Knowing that town, I'm not surprised. I also wouldn't be surprised to find the towns right next door have the same thing. Good Lord.
I’m from the area and at first I was shocked but now I’m just mad and wondering how many villages in the area do the same thing. You know this chief told his buddies up in ABQ and they went to other small towns with the idea.
"Officially Lake Arthur doesn't really have a police department. The village pays volunteer cops $20 a year to occasionally write speeding tickets. But our investigation finds, unofficially, Lake Arthur has amassed an underground police force with more than 100 gun-toting officers on its roster. None of them live in Lake Arthur. In fact, most don't even live in New Mexico."
THIS IS FUCKING NUTS. How are we supposed to train police officers if we're just handing out credentials like candy??
Ok... let’s clear some stuff up here. She is rude, you should clap back but many Latinx people are in fact white.
The “many white people speak Spanish” thing makes no sense.
You're right and my response was not well worded.
Can't really think of a way to frame it, but I have a lot of feelings on being Latinx and not being able to speak Spanish. It's been a sore spot for years.

I don't think the "talk to her in Spanish" thing would get the point across. White people know Spanish too, and it'd probably reinforce her white savior complex argument. I have literally said that I'm a latina and still get side eyed or questioned by people. I get it- I'm light skinned. I'm half white but my Hispanic grandpa and most of my family are light skinned too, so it's not like being 100% would've changed it much.
I always think of Selena's dad- "We're too American for the Mexicans and we're too Mexican for the Americans! It's exhausting!" Sorry you are going through this, OP. It's not fun having to justify who you are all the time.
I don't either. I've never been to a kids party with alcohol, they're at like 11 am.
Lol all the Caribbean kids parties I’ve been to have had alcohol usually rum (good rum not that white shit)or some other kind of liquor. Our parties are usually late afternoon until...
But we have more than adequate food and we are social drinkers so no one gets sloppy and inappropriate.
We are having my son’s party in a week and my husband will probably top up his rum barrel. We are ordering from Chipotle and doing a bunch of chicken nuggets as well as snacks. Later in the evening if the food gets low we will order pizza.
The last kids party we had at our house all the Americans left right after we cut cake and everyone else stayed. Around 8 pm we bathed all the remaining kids (about 8) and put them in jammies and sent them upstairs. Not cuz the adults were drunk but because for us, a party of any kind is a full family gathering and an opportunity to hang out. My kids don’t really enjoy having parties at a party place because it’s over so quickly.
Not Caribbean, but this is how all the parties ended when I was a kid. I had like 20 cousins, so it was usually just jammies and a movie at my aunt's or grandparents' house once we were tired while the parents stayed up and talked. Even if it was at a party place or restaurant, the party always moved to someone's house. lol. I remember the first time I went to a friend's kid's birthday and was confused at the abrupt stop. So, that's it? We just leave Chuck E. Cheese and go home? I've learned since then that we were the weird ones and parties do only last 1-2 hours.
I think this is a smart way to use it, because I have watched a lot of Criminal Minds. In all seriousness, it seems like a great app for anyone who runs/bikes distances.
As far as my husband, I have no idea if he's actually going golfing/to a game/wherever he says he's going. If he's conning me, well done, H.
This is a good idea for running. I always have these moments of "omg what if I fall and break a leg and no one is around to help and my drop my phone out of reach?!" Not really a stretch since I'm not the most graceful human.
What I would actually use it for is to know when to get off the couch when H is on his way home the days I work from home and want to pretend like I was also doing stuff around the house.
I've done this a few times when I'm still in my pjs working. How far away is he so I can shower/brush my hair/look like a living human before he arrives? lol
Meghan Markle’s Dad has become a meme about cramming for exams the night before, lol
He kinda looks like my dad and it's cracking me up because this would totally be him. I'd also get emails every 30 minutes on "Hey! Did you know that your new in laws are related to this famous historical person?!" "Can we have my birthday at this castle? It looks nice!"
It would be a coping mechanism with all the pressure. Can you imagine?
The rules of deployment were defined in a memorandum of agreement between officials in the Department of Defense and the governors of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas as well as Mexico.
National Guard members involved in the operation were not involved in law enforcement activities due to the political aspect of the US military on the US/Mexico border. They were supporting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Border Patrol agencies with administrative, observational and intelligence gathering capacities, and civil engineering projects. By temporarily taking over these functions from the USC&BP, they freed up sworn agents to field units.
Military operations with Operation Jump Start were primarily to observe and report. The rules of engagement for the operation was very restrictive and only allowed escalation to lethality when met with an equal amount of force from another. The US military set up entry identification team sites to spot undocumented aliens. Many of the areas of operation were in desolate locations; some locations were so remote that troops were sometimes flown in by UH-60 helicopter.
So Mexico agreed to this back in 2006-2008? I can't see that happening now, but you never know. Plus what coded language that National Guard members "were not involved in law enforcement activities due to the political aspect of the US military on the US/Mexico border" but "observational and intelligence gathering" aren't part of law enforcement?
If there aren't going to be more fences this time, then isn't Trump going to be asking the National Guard to do actual immigration law enforcement? Is that a harder sell to these governors?
The National Guard can't be "armed" as it would be an act of war, not border security. The rules of engagement were weird, but they basically supplemented by doing extra duties for the border patrol so the agents could man the borders.
Also, some states did have their members on state orders and not federal. The types of orders a guardsman is on also can determine what type of role they play in the deployment. Feds can't be deputized because that would equal martial law or act of war, but state orders allow for it. Being in the guard was weird and we had so many different rules to follow compared to active duty/reserve.
Reuters and AP twitter, covering today's WH press conference:
Trump directed Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security to work together to deploy National Guard at border with Mexico - Secretary Nielsen
I know we don't have answers yet, but I hope those governors are resisting (probably not AZ, right?) I mean this is all out of their state budgets and so without an additional funding source through congress, you can't really just deploy troops to do nothing and then cover all that overtime payment with your General Funds. I'm so pissed if they go along - and there should be protests to any gov who goes along.
Not quite. This happened back in 2006-2008 and the orders were federal but the governors have to authorize the use of state troops.
On the Today Show this morning, they were saying that the hospital where Kate will deliver has put a fresh coat of paint on the exterior windows and railings and such in the spot where they’ll do their photo op post-birth. So lots are speculating that she’s pretty close.
I want to look like her when I'm 8.5 months pregnant. This was her last engagement before maternity leave:
I’m so sorry amberlyrose (for you but mostly- your poor mom, obviously, ugh!) I must admit- I’m horrified at my naivety (formerly, like 1.5 yrs ago) thinking this could never legitimately happen in MY country! Obviously, it is & it does & foundations that I used to think are without-a-doubt trustworthy & out for the best for all US citizens are sometimes run/ governed by corrupt individuals. It’s also a shame I have a feeling this won’t be broadcast on the nightly news. How many years ago did that happen to your mom Amberly..?🙁
Probably about 5? It was about a year after they bought their house and were so excited about some student loan forgiveness, having extra money for the house.. and then this. Teachers get royally screwed from all sides.

Something similar happened to my mom. She has taught in low income schools her whole career and they were so close to the 10 year mark or whatever it was for the timeframe, then poof- converted somehow, sold to Nelnet. It wasn't under TEACH Grants, but an earlier program. I've never seen my mom so devastated.
Kate wore blue and pink early on this time and I'd like to think she was purposely messing with people. Lol
Listen if I was her I would be messing with people left and right. I did see Meghan talked about needing future baby stuff in their recent surprise visit. They will totally be having babies in the next year.
You have no idea the rabbit hole I’ve gone down. Thanks guys. However I can’t afford $1785 coats that she wears.
H&M have some great knock-offs
I need a belt for a coat I bought in Japan that looks a lot like one Meghan recently wore. I love it but something was missing and now I know what it is.
