Ask the teacher which program they use. We use Fountas and Pinnell. It's similar to Reading A-Z in the early stages, but around J or K they begin to differ quite a bit.
I let kids choose what they want in library for the most part. Sometimes they pick a book that is too easy or slightly too difficult because it interests them, and I'm okay with that. Half the battle is getting them to actually pick up a book and read it because they're interested in the content. Elephant and Piggies are way too easy for my 2nd graders, but they're awesome books for practicing how to be an expressive reader. On the flipside, Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are way above reading level for most of my K-2 kids, but they're so interested in the content that they're willing to take on the challenge.
I've also been talking to them about not discounting picture books as being too easy. Some picture books are low level, but many are more difficult than some chapter books. There are Seuss books with higher reading levels than some Magic Tree House books. Picture books can often times have a more rich vocabulary. There's a lot of value in them, even into the upper elementary years.
I noticed I have a 5x point offer on skincare that overlaps with my 3x point offer at Ulta.
If I buy my Perricone foundation serum and moisturizer I'll get another 978 points.
I hate their customer service but love their rewards program. I bet I'll hit 2000 for the third time this year. I haven't even reached platinum yet for 2016.
September was an interesting month for me. Since I'm working for the first time in years and wearing makeup on a daily basis, I challenged myself to really use as many different palettes/blushes/lip colors as possible. It's re-piqued my makeup interest.
I ordered Mega Pro 3. I had a 3x point offer from Ulta in my inbox this morning, so it was enough to push me over 2000 points again. I'll snag some holiday sets when it credits in a couple days, I think.

I interviewed first with the building principal, and then moved up to the building principal and superintendent. I was offered the position that evening.
The initial interview was low key. I was asked what set me apart from other candidates, who my favorite authors were, that sort of thing. My second interview was more about how my philosophy fit in with the district, what my class management plan was, how would I structure my classes, how would I collaborate with the staff, ect.
I had an advantage because I was the book fair chairperson and had put in a lot of volunteer time in the school, so they knew me fairly well. Look into the school's discipline plan (we use PBIS) and their philosophy on technology and be prepared to speak about those.

Agree about homework. I'd also look at past assignments or assessments if they're available to you to see where she needs more focused help. Push the teacher again to provide that info.

Basements aren't as common in my area of Ohio in the sense that they're often times not an included feature. We wound up in a house with a slab foundation. I miss the storage space and truth be told, I don't think I'd buy another house without a basement again. We have a shed and small bonus room, but a basement is just so much more practical for living and storage space.
He was 70% there in June, when we still had two months and I reached out to the school to get insight on how strict that was, what our grace period was for making the first payment, etc. With another month of work, we had him to the point where he was pretty consistent with #1, and had occasional success with #2. I pulled the trigger and submitted the first tuition payment when he went a full weekend with no accidents at all. This with the reassurance of the business manager, along with friends in other Montessori programs saying it would be fine, they had similar policies and their kids pulled through.
The transition definitely caused some regression. He's at a point now where he's pooped in the toilet only twice in three weeks. He pooped in his underwear twice at school today I acknowledge that in his current state, he's not where he needs to be, but we really thought he was so damn close last month. He never has pee accidents anymore, he had a couple the first week in the classroom, I think again due to the transition, and their push to have him nap without the pull up. FWIW, he hasn't even peed during his nap since that first week, so it seems to be fine.
If I pull him by the end of the month, we'll owe 40% of the annual tuition. And then I need to find another school with room in a city full of wait lists. Shit, I don't know what to do...
I think your best bet is to be frank with them and say that it's clearly not working out for either side and ask them to let you out without owing anything else for the year. It's incredibly unfair to everyone involved to send a kid who isn't 100% to a school that is expecting kids to be fairly independent with their toileting needs. You're going to be frustrated, they'll be frustrated, and your son will pick up on it. He probably already has seeing as how he's only pooped in the toilet twice in three weeks. It's a control issue, and you can't battle with him over it. He'll win every time.
I get the frustration. Mine wouldn't even look at a toilet until he was three and a half. He attended a program that was okay with that though, and they really encouraged him to poop for the joy of it

Ugh. He confessed to one more than 10 years ago in my hometown.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are others. He confessed to two more beside the two that were found at the house, and they're investigating a fifth that was found today. There's yet another case they reopened and are investigating to see if he is connected.
That woman is lucky to be alive. I'm glad she was able to make the call.
I picked up a Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser and Color Switch brush cleaner.
Apparently it was my first Sephora purchase since last Christmas. Needless to say, I won't be making VIB or Rouge.
Platinum at Ulta though? In the bag.
Let me know how you like the color switch stuff! I've been eyeing it for a while.
I really like it. It does a good job knocking color off the brushes. I've been using it all week and haven't noticed any muddiness with my eyeshadows, so it seems like it's doing what it should.

Cindy or Mary Loumanizer. I use Cindy more than Mary.
I also like TF Sun Bunny.
I reach for Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Under Eye something or other concealer in Brightener the most though for under my eyes and diffuse a forehead wrinkle.
