There are some brands that will allow you to connect to the Peloton app via bluetooth. Horizon is one of them. Brands that utilize iFit will not connect.
My son used the bathroom in the middle of the night and clogged the toilet. The toilet ran all night and overflowed all through his bathroom and out into the hallway. Poop water all through the first and second floor of our house. It leaked through the floors into the kitchen.

It's such an increasing and growing problem. Working in a lower elementary school really highlighted it the last few years especially.
Kids largely don't understand how to play games together at recess without an adult directing it for them. Playing on playground equipment, sure, but an actual game like tag or Red Light, Green Light is completely foreign.
But aside from play, there are the basic skills- opening their own lunch items, zipping jackets, tying shoes, putting their library books or homework in their backpacks to return to school. If you question or push them to learn the skills, it's a blank stare and "My mom does it for me." Don't get me wrong, I get that not every kid is going to be able to tie their shoes yet. It's not about mastery of the skill or lackthereof... it's that it's a completely foreign concept to many first and second graders that it's something they should be attempting to do for themselves.
He's in HS now but I've said it since kindergarten. Working in a school made me realize that not every day is a good day for kids for reasons that might not be within their control, but doing their best is more attainable.
Well if it's checkout day, I do pile all the used towels and washcloths in the tub. So then I got all anxious that I was doing it wrong and googled it, and it seems to be appropriate.
5" inseam, high rise, side pocket in addition to the back pocket, traditional brief liner.
Rogas are my go-to short. They're more expensive but good quality anf the fit is more flattering/not as baggy as a lot of other shorts. There's a Toolbelt style that I prefer more because it has mesh pockets all around the waistband, but I don't think it comes in high rise.

Handheld bottles alter your form. I have a Flipbelt with a waterbottle and I like it. It doesn’t bounce, and I have room for my phone as well.
I also swear by my Shokz headphones. I run exclusively outdoors and like to hear my surroundings. They’re so light I forget I’m wearing them.
If I could go back in time I would tell new-runner me to slow the eff down and keep the majority of my runs at a conversational effort, and to lift some heavy weights a few times a week. Both those things changed my running for the better.

Both Sci-Fi and 50s Prime Time are good options at HS. Both will fit the bill for unique dining experience. Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land is SO much fun and the food was pretty good. It's all you can eat, and there's a ton of it.
Epcot- Garden Grill is a character experience and it gets cool bonus points for being a rotating restaurant. We also really enjoy Beirgarten. If you'll be there during the Food and Wine festival, I'd strongly recommend enjoying the vendors and snacking your way around World Showcase. Trattoria al Forno is one of my favorite meals. It's located at the Boardwalk right outside Epcot.
Magic Kingdom- I honestly don't love the sit down options here. We've been to them all and they're all just okay. Liberty Tree Tavern is a great Thanksgiving meal. The Plaza is hit or miss. Crystal Palace is fine, but the biggest attraction is that it's a Winnie the Pooh character meal. Tony's Town Square was mediocre. Skipper's Canteen is good, but less adventurous eaters may not enjoy. We personally leave MK to visit other spots within the neighboring hotels- Storybook Dining at Wilderness Lodge is excellent. O'hana is delicious, and Chef Mickey is the only spot where you can see the Fab Five characters in one place.
Animal Kingdom tends to be another quick service spot for us. Tusker House is good, but we've been just as happy with meals from Flame Tree BBQ or Yak and Yeti. Boma and Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge are both very good but again, less adventurous eaters may not enjoy it.
67/88 counties had a yes majority. I think this election was helped by a number of conservative voters who weren't swayed by what the Yes campaign was selling, but it does not give me hope for future issues. I'm glad it failed, but also feeling pretty uneasy about where it leaves us overall.

I'm on my third Mirena and noticed that with my last I had more frequent spotting toward the end. I had it replaced because it was time, but I went back to no spotting with my newest.
I know everyone loves Starbucks, but I hate getting them because there isn’t one close by me and it’s not my preferred place to get coffee. I think avoiding consumables is your best bet.
Anything is appreciated!
I agree with the above. I don't buy coffee out and I am not a big clothes shopper. Amazon or Target gives me more choices. I currently have $200 worth of Starbucks gift cards. I truly appreciate the sentiment, but I usually donate these to the local women's shelter.
Same. I'm appreciative of any gift, but I have a stack of Starbucks giftcards in a drawer I will never use because I don't drink coffee.

I felt so sad for him. The financial toll is one thing, but the emotional toll is just devastating. The short term impact was felt when he wasn't drafted in the first round, but his long term career suffered as well due to the mental strain.
A few weeks ago to a neighbor. I was walking our dog and a neighbor was coming from the opposite direction on his bike with his unleashed dog running alongside. His dog crossed over and started sniffing at my dog, then nipped at him. I asked the neighbor why his dog wasn't on a leash and he told me "Calm down, bitch, and control your dog."
I feel like a hearty fuck you, asshole was justified in that situation. He started it.

Mine will be going into 9th grade.
He has sports practice most mornings, so we have an understanding that as long as he's getting up and moving without being grumpy, we won't impose a bedtime schedule. He's usually in bed around 10 and getting 9 hrs of sleep for days he has practice. On mornings he doesn't, he'll stay up later and sleep in, which is fine. I care that he's getting enough sleep and that he's learning to regulate that himself. He doesn't have practice tomorrow and will likely stay up past midnight and sleep in til 10 tomorrow... and it's fine. I recognize that from a biological standpoint it's totally normal for teens to tend to become night owls and that they need more sleep, so I try to balance that with also enabling him to be a functional human being.
His bedtime has nothing to do with mine, though. I'm always in bed before he is.
I don't think the race director ever intended for it to become as public as it has. There's not anything positive for them to gain from the situation, especially when it came out that she rewarded their behavior in the past with medals and comped entries. She could have and should have banned them back then and had them removed from the course in future events, but instead she rewarded and encouraged the family. She knowingly allowed a six year old child to be put in a dangerous situation. Once it started to blow up, those IG posts mysteriously disappeared.
I’m on vacation and I lost my wallet (ID, health ins card, 3 credit cards, etc)!!
Anyone ever had to fly home without ID? I do have a photo of it and my SSN card (and I’m with my family so hoping they will vouch for me ha). What a freaking pain. Also have another hotel to check into but I think my DHs name is also on that reservation.
I have an expired passport at home I could have someone mail me but I don’t think that would work?
I have.
I realized I didn't have my ID when I arrived at the airport to depart for vacation. I did have a couple CCs with my name, and a screenshot of my ID. The TSA agent there let me through without any additional screening but warned me that coming home through MCO would be more difficult/time consuming.
It honestly was not as bad as I expected, but it was definitely a time consuming process. I had a photo of my ID but they couldn't accept it. Make sure you get to the airport several hours before hand. It took an additional hour for me to make it through security at MCO. The TSA agent asked me questions about my name, address, and some other questions. (I think mine were prior addresses and cars I had owned?) I also had to go through a patdown and have my bags searched.
My eye doctor went the opposite direction and suggested ortho-k lenses. They're a hard lens you sleep in and remove every morning. Honestly, it's been life changing. I don't deal with dry or itchy eyes anymore or blurry lenses. Going swimming is much more enjoyable now- I can SEE!

My son is at the age where I do ask permission before sharing anything about him. I've shared with him that my FB is a diary of sorts- it brings a lot of joy to see memories of things he said pop up, or photos and such. It's locked down. I don't share anything new, but I'm also not going to delete anything.
That said, her "friends" are jerks and the conversation should be steered in that direction. Friends don't try to make one another feel embarrassed or ashamed ofthe traditions and normal every day life stuff, so she needs to figure out if these are truly people who are worth being friends with and then find a way to deal with it. "Yeah, the cake was pretty good!" or "Yeah, my family has all kinds of wacky traditions." If she can shrug it off, they won't have any more ammo.

The Russells are a mishmash of people from the era. George Russell is based primarily on Jay Gould, with a bit of Cornelious Vanderbilt.. both villified during the time for being robber barons. Gould was known to engaged in stock manipulation techniques. Bertha Russell seems to be based more on Alva Vanderbilt, though. I'm curious to see if they do indeed model their daughter after Consuelo Vanderbilt.

I have the eBags Motherlode Jr and have mixed feelings about it. It's a kind of amazing bag in some ways- I like that the main compartment opens like a suitcase. I use slim packing cubes in it and it fits as much as my regular wheeled carryon plus I can fit my laptop, water bottle, and stuff like snacks, wallet, and a book in there and still somehow can fit the bag under the seat on an airplane.
But the straps suck. There's no weight distribution and it gets pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly. It's not a bag I'd want to have to haul around all day.
I definitely eat something carby and easy to digest pre-run- graham crackers or a Pop Tart usually.
I fuel anything longer than 90 minutes. I like Maurten gels most- they don't need to be taken with water and don't cause GI issues for me the way a lot of other gels do. I'll generally take them at 3/6/9/12/15ect mile checkpoints because it works well timing wise for me and is easier for me to keep track of than time. Do I NEED fuel at mile 3? No, but if you wait to take in fuel until you start feeling that dip in energy, it's too late and really difficult to recover from. For long runs and races, I fuel early and often. I use mid-distance runs to help practice my fueling strategy and to allow my stomach to get used to taking in fuel while running.
I'm a salty sweater so I add in Salt Stick chews, and in the summer I'll also incorporate Liquid IV.
I thought I responded to this earlier. Congratulations! Did you wear a costume for any of the races? Would you do it again?
Thanks!
I went with Disney-inspired outfits and that was a first for me. I've done Disney races before but have never dressed up because I 'm picky about the stuff I run in.
The 5k character on the medal was Pluto, so I did running shorts and a tank in that yellow-gold color and topped it off with a Pluto hat that had floppy ears for fun. 10k was Oswald, so I wore blue shorts and a black tank, plus a set of Oswald ears. The half marathon was Donald Duck. I already had a blue tank, so I bought a red bow tie to pin onto the neckline and a fluffy featherylooking skirt to wear over my running shorts. Marathon day I went with comfort and wore a tank and my favorite shorts, but I wore a sparkle skirt over my shorts for a little flair. The two skirts, bow tie, and hat/ears were the only things I purchased specifically for the races. Everything else was gear I already owned.
I would do it again. I'm contemplating it next year. The training is the only thing that makes me hesitate because the peak mileage is happening at an already busy time of year during the holidays. The back to back long runs and recovery after quickly ate up my weekends.
That's amazing! What a fantastically strong performance. And I salute your slight insanity that this was your first marathon.
I am so intrigued by Dopey as a challenge, but the logistics seem challenging. Did you stay on site? How early did you have to get up to get where you needed to be? Are you generally a "disney person" so you're already familiar with the whole shebang?
I would say that we're Disney people. I've done several previous runDisney events so I'm pretty familiar with all the logistics. My first half marathon was one of their challenge weekends where you run a 10k and a half. I also tried to incorporate tune-up races during training that would mimic race weekend.
I did stay on site for the race weekend. They provide bussing from each of their resorts to and from the start/finish. It makes it really easy to get there, espeically on marathon day when many of the main roads were closed for the race.
I was up at 1:45am each day in order to be at the bus stop by 2:15 because the first bus was scheduled to leave at 2:30. I like to be on the first bus because I like to be first in my corral if I can be. Disney has started breaking each of the corrals into smaller waves. For any other race I wouldn't care, but runDisney's official training plan is written by Jeff Galloway, and many run/walkers walk the first three races per his recommendation leading up to the marathon. I'm fine with that- it's a sound strategy if you can maintain the pace- but I also don't want to weave around them. Corrals open at 3:30 am. Most normal people don't care about that and get on the bus around 3 or 3:30. I avaoided napping after the races and went to bed around 5:30 each evening.
