I’m going with this is 1 situation you can’t judge unless you’re in it. It sounds like he has a gf and also continues caring For his wife. If he abondned his wife I’d be judgey but I hunk I’m okay with this.
The fact that he didn’t know her reminds me Of that horrible story in CT, where a random guy followed two girls home from the grocery store and killed them And their mom and dad witnessed it all while tied up. The randomness is horrifying
The real Debra Newell was on WWHL last night and was asked what isn’t portrayed. Her first answer was the romance. After all that has happened that answer made me shake my head.
I am pretty much in a echo chamber so everyone I know is blaming trump and now Mitch for the shut down. I know trumps base will always side with him but outside of my echo chamber I wonder who’s getting the blame.
Pelosi and Schumer
Seriously? He literally refused to sign the CR that was passed by house and senate. In response to Ann Coulter’s appearance on Fox News. Doe people really blame Pelosi and Schumer?
I would not go and I would tell People why. I stopped getting my nails done at a place because the owner, who I’ve never seen there, was convicted of sexual assault. I don’t choose to spend my money there.
DD, turns 9 today, is getting a desk and fuzzy chair from santa. WE will put the desk in our playroom or family room, both of which are on the main level. I don't want it in her room b/c when she gets access to a device, we will have a rule that devices must be used on main level and i think putting the desk in her room now will make that harder to enforce down the line. i'm sure it will be used to store crap but i prefer crap to be in the desk than out on playroom shelves like it is now
One of my friends is going tonight and just asked me this very question!
Count on close to 3 hours after it starts. They show a few videos and ours, which had Oprah as the host, didn’t really start start until 8:50 or so. The actual interview was maybe an hour and a half? A little longer?
Ours was the first night, so they may have changed it up slightly. But seriously, she’s so warm. It was a tremendous experience. It was also fun for us because we had Whitney Young students in the house. I’m guessing you will have a similar experience, but for different reasons, in DC.
Thank you!
We aren't allowed to have uber on base so I usually drive to a gate and walk out to meet the uber so I wanted to know which gate I should park near.
I'm excited. I wish I was at the last dc show because Barack came out, whomp whomp!
We’re going tonight, too, and also wishing we went last week!
this is so creepy. I grew up in the town next to westfield and know exactly where this is. I am not at all surprised the neighborhood is more concerned about appearances of a split property vs. other people's safety. I don''t think the husband wrote the original letters but i don't know WTF he would write letters to other people.
seeyalater52 -- that's kind of what I thought might be happening. I think the Dems are going to have a nightmare on their hands if they all go into 2020 saying "I'm for Medicare for All" when each primary candidate has a different idea of what that actually is. They need to sort this shit out. And I agree that ending private insurance is a non-starter. Politically unpopular, logistically unfeasible, and it would tank the economy. It's got to be the ACA with a souped up public option.
YUP! And we keep saying this to Dems in Congress, and they keep saying that they basically don't have time because now oversight and investigations are the only thing on the political agenda. Which is what fueled my meltdown in the results thread last night. We cannot ignore this or it's going to go dynamite all over our shot at 2020.
i truly think bernie's side of the party is going to go all in for bernie and their pundits will make the false equivalency argument that any dem candidate besides bernie doesn't really want medicare for all is equally as bad as trump and the part will be split. I don't see 2020 shaking out any other way. even today the bernie groups and talking heads are all about how the dems don't have a chance b/c their too centrist and not acknowledging that most of the people they supported the strongest lost last night-abrams, gillum, beto, ironstache. i'm not happy those people lost but the bernie side is not admitting to the loss and is digging in even harder this morning that berie is the only serious 2020 contender.
ESF, I actually like Harris so far for 2020 but honestly haven't thought too much beyond the midterms. I like what I know of Beto but would definitely need to do more research on his positions. I don't know anything about Gillum, I'll have to do some looking there too.
I don’t see how the dems put a 2018 mid term loser (sorry not best word I really just mean someone who lost) as the nom for 2020.
Am I taking crazy pills? I feel like things are looking pretty good! The dems will likely take the house, Beto might beat Cruz (!!!!), progressive legislation is passing nationwide and there have been some key governor wins as well as historic first for women and people of color. While not every race is going our way (is that even possible?), I feel like there's a lot to celebrate.
I feel like this board despairs at all humanity if things aren't going 100% in our favor or as predicted. This is going to be a long ass haul to an improved democracy and we can't get so despondent.
Plus, I feel like this *is* going as predicted? I mean, Dems will probably take the house, unless something catastrophic and unexpected happens. Taking the senate was a longshot, and I remember reading Dems would probably lose 1 or 2 seats. So... things are going well, to me.
It’s hard to listen Van Jones, you can literally hear the sadness and disappointment in his voice. Who are these people polling? Seriously screw Florida.
Van Jones just interviewed Jared last week and handled him with kid gloves, and didn't ask any tough questions. His network airs Trump hate speeches real time. So he can have a seat.
Fair point. Cnn also needs to stop putting on gop talking heads every night and sharing their perspective
I feel like many of us are van jones tonight. It’s hard to not feel so sad
Yes. Because not only is it not going the way I hoped, but the underlying message of that means that a critical mass of people in this country look at Trump and the GOP under him -- everything they have done, and everything that Trump spouts and that those he endorses explicitly or implicitly are okay with -- and decided it is either a feature, not a bug, or that they are willing to look the other way.
To some degree I almost wonder if this isn't worse than 2016. That was shocking, and horrible, but there you had people who were like, "Oh, I thought he wasn't serious, I thought he'd turn presidential." Now they KNOW, and....they voted for all of this anyway. There's no way to spin it other than people are blatantly voting in favor of Trump's preferred candidates/the GOP out of racism and/or self-interest (i.e. taxes, guns, etc.). And its hard to have any semblance of optimism or faith in people if this is how things are.
Yes. You nailed it. It IS worse in a way. After all The shit, people are choosing to vote for trump candidates. I see tonight, so far, as support For trump. And that is so depressing

I was at the Wanda Sykes show in moco ttinight. Dave chapelle cane out to stump for jealous. Then jealous came out. He seemed very quiet and shy. But Dave Chapelle spoke very highly of him and made me WANT to vote FOR Jealous
